Without reading any posts so far I thought we were unlucky not to come away with a point, I did fear the worst once Pompy went a goal up, good wing play by the lad Curtis ball rolled into a great area and Evans did the rest, apart from that I didn't think they looked owt special.
The major worrying factor is we find ourselves 7 points outside the bottom 4 with Posh a week on Saturday it could be 10 before we get chance to maybe claw some back against Oxford, but as for today's performance I cant be too critical.

 

This is the same Hope Akpan who has failed to win 80 % of the games he's played in since August 2016?

We've signed a statistical marvel, a guy who just does not win games.

At Blackburn, they won 7 of the 29 games he appeared in across all competitions.
At Burton, they won 5 of the 29 games he appeared in across all competitions.
At City, we have won 2 of the 10 games he has appeared in across all competitions.

No wonder the guy plays with little confidence, he has been losing games and getting relegated year in, year out.

I'd be very interested to see if there is a player with an even worse record in terms of wins over such an extensive period of time? Or have we signed the biggest (read: most frequent) 'loser' in the EFL?

They didn't look anything special and that's what makes it all the more frustrating.

 

Chicksen got done initially and didn't choose to take a yellow for the team. He was woeful, not steady.

But more to the point Portsmouth Saturday ? Anyone remember when "Harry" brought his Merson inspired Pompey outfit to VP for their end of season inprontu "promotion party"? All took the pizz in white boots and ripped us to shreads 5-0 ! as I recall ?. Well ?...we're playing Portsmouth Saturday !

 

Not going, and sadly not bothered. Anything other than a big loss will be a shock. Further up this thread I'm seeing people excited because of the plane, maybe it's just tongue in cheek. But in all seriousness I'm not, it's sad that it's come to this, sad that our club is in this state, and sad that in 15-16 we were in the playoffs and Pompey were struggling in the league below and now look at us.

Nothing good is happening at our club, and worst of all I can't see anything to look forward to either.

I pay 6€ per match on ifollow. To be honest, my finger hovers over the "confirm" button most Saturdays. Sad that isn't it?
Last Saturday was the first time I actually didn't tell the Mrs we had to be back home by 5pm (3pm your time). Sums it up.
Nothing the club can do though. If they dropped their prices because of our drop in form, we'd be a laughing stock.

Obviously I'm tuning in tmrw due to the flyover #imoneofthe64

 

If we could defend to a half decent standard we would be 0/0 now and looking good value for it.

We just rob ourselves of any chance to get something from a game with our god awful defence.

That's because most fans on here are not objective enough. Never have been. Example of this is the abuse Evans used to get.

I was at the match and everyone had a decent match apart from Chicksen, Doyle and Miller. The former can be excused, considering it's their first game back

In summary of the match, it was like last season's games against Pompey, virtually no difference between teams

In fact I'm going to make my first bet in years, that we're both in this division next year as I'm sure the odds will be good

Finally, just bought my 3 year old grandson his first City hat and scarf, can't wait to see his face when he gets them

 

100% agree Bronco, thought we deserved something from the game and it certainly didn't feel like top v bottom, they looked very average. We are still making sloppy mistakes at times and one of the biggest culprits of that, NKP, was at it again today but managed to redeem himself a bit with a fantastic tackle in the second half. He seemed like a different player after that to me so I hope it has given his confidence a boost.
