    My answer was "They may be a crap team, but they're my crap team"

    I think the point was your comment was uncalled for:
    "There must be something missing from someone’s life if they are willing to travel to Portsmouth for a top v bottom league 1 fixture"
    If fellow fans get pleasure in traveling down to Portsmouth to support the team why should they be questioned, I think they realise they might have a long journey after a disappointing result but who kows with Bradford City they might have a long journey back disgussing a very good City victory.

    We flew down to the Bournemouth game a few years back . Did 2 nights in Southampton . Great trip . Game got called off due to snow thou :laughing:

    Yes I checked on both national rail enquiries and the south west trains website and the services are OK for that weekend.
    I'll keep checking as I know that things can change.
    Thanks for the advice though.

    If you have ‘deep pockets’ and you have worked in Manchester, then why not fly? Manchester to Southampton? Flight @ 10.20 arrive 11.20. Return @ 20.25 arrive 21.30 cost £64.

    Hope you checked South West Trains from Waterloo are not on strike. What with that and Cross Country having buses currently between Sheff and Derby, I think, I'm going car Friday back after match

    Good advice there from WW, weekend travel by rail is a nightmare nowadays with strikes and engineering work causing diversions and delays.
    You will not get a train from Leeds to Bradford in the evening either.

    When I came back from Plymouth on the Sunday morning the train was diverted under the Severn Tunnel to Newport !!!!!!!
    I live in Drighlington so will get the bus home from Leeds.
    Thanks for the warning though.

    Oh behave Nikki......I’m loyal to the club and always will be but at this present time I have no optimism and can not justify giving that group of players my time and money. Pompey away is expensive and time consuming and they simply don’t deserve it.
