It's not a poisoned chalice. That's a cop out. This is a huge club at this level, good revenue, big fan base. What's missing is competence, simple as that. A disinterested owner, novice CEO, a manager who's approach doesn't work at this level and seems to think he's doing us a favour by being here.

We're not cursed. Get capable people, reasonably funded, well led and operating to a sound strategy and we'd fly.

And I'm not having the 'fans are the problem' narrative either. Our fans turn up in their numbers every week and they back players longer than most. But they've been fed a diet of sh*te and incompetence for 20 years.

I've been going over 50 years and apart from possibly 10/15%of those seasons have been fed sh*te and incompetence but continue to support the club. Older age and maybe experience are gradually diminishing my enthusiasm

You're right, it is not a poisoned chalice. Bradford City is a fantastic opportunity for any manager below the top two divisions. Unfortunately in recent years even when you appoint the right man it goes to pot. I thought Adams was a very good choice but he never looked like succeeding. Mind, how he must have enjoyed today!

I still believe that with the right manager/head coach you can be back in The Championship within three seasons. I never felt Hughes was that man.

Spot on. It’s fine though people think Sparks is up to the job because we have more banners in the stadium.

It’s fine because we have an owner who cares more about driving cars on race tracks than Bradford City.

What you’re asking for there is everything Hughes recognised and promised when he first came on board.
    He’s doing the very opposite

I’d bet Bowyer was, Doyle, Vaughan and Donaldson was the best strike force we’ve had down here and he made a total hash of it. The cost cutting started during Covid, so yes I imagine Adams had the lowest budget by far. All 3 have failed however regardless of which way you look at it and all are experienced managers. There seems to be more wrong at the club than just the manager.

In my opinion we sign too many untried kids from the likes of Villa, WBA, Burnley etc and in the main they are not up to it.
Look at Costelloe, Bola, Nevers, Oyegoke, Afoka, Tulloch etc all pretty much ineffective.
I exclude Wright and Banks, the only two who showed any promise. Even Pierira (sic) faded after looking the part.

Seasoned pro's - not over the hill types, who have something to prove and fit into our style of play are the ones to loan.
When I see the likes of Steven Fletcher etc signing for Wrexham when Mullin is out, I get a little envious - and they even had Palmer in their squad!

We just seem to sign any kid going as long as he's from some Premiership under 12's side.
    Come on Gent, finger out!

Totally agree. Why can’t we use our own very talented kids. This puts them in the shop window. The PL hoover up every kid who shows any talent, then shove them out to the lower leagues.

Are give over there isn’t a team in this league who would have turned Hughes down. And haven’t you ever missed an important e mail in the spam folder

Holywell Ash lane is named after the holy well which they buried under the pitch somewhere near the Bradford end.We need to get a druid in to lift the curse.

F.O. man! I am depressed enough about the club at the moment, don't need you constantly posting the obvious and reminding us what we already know. Get a life lad

This one is actually really easy.

Here are some of the main reasons a player who looks garbage here might look great elsewhere:

    1) We signed them, but they don't fit our tactics
    2) We signed them, but because of the person playing next to them, they don't get to just do whatever it is they're good at (ie, imbalanced partnerships)
    3) We signed them, but until we told them they weren't good enough, they didn't really have the fire to prove themselves
    4) We signed them, but they didn't really feel we were their 'last chance'
    5) We signed them, but played them while they were injured and this either hampered form or led to longer term injuries
    6) We signed them, and they were always a good player, but they just had someone ahead of them who was also a good player

I can think of people to fit every single one of those categories.

If its such a great opportunity then Why havent we had anyone interested in buying us then ?

You would think and as you say a club with the fanbase we have would be a huge opportunity for an investor.. so where are they ? We’re a poison chalice hence the reason no one is interested

This is Rupps doing, he was soo uninterested in this club when he bought us he let his mate who “knew football” run us into league 2 when we were sooo close to the championship.

It's back to incompetence. New buyers don't just pop along, generally speaking. Corporate acquisition is done proactively.

Of course he does dam fool why hasn’t he marched on VP and demanded it. Yes if this job when it becomes available will have many candidates but non from managers secure in a job elsewhere

Who would want to manage City with our impatient supporters? Derek Adams was right!
