You won't have seen today's Yorkshire Post where there is an interview with Vincent Kompany about Burnley's recruitment. Finance, or lack of it, is seen as a problem in getting the right quality players for Championship level. Dave Baldwin, when he was there, told me they had spent £40 m on a new training centre. Didn't do them much good and now they haven't got a lot spare apparently.
I agree with the likes of Kevin, Bronco and yourself. I've been inside our facilities, I was party to the current legals with the school that got us the facilities we did and have improved on. I talk to other clubs when we play them, believe me we have better than most in L2, if not all and better than a lot in L1. I keep making the point from first hand knowledge but there is non so blind as will not see.

 

Ah but it wasn't proper training it's a school you know, seriously as you know I go down now and again when it's nice you couldn't wish for better surroundings to work in, the indoor facilities are excellent swimming pool, gym, treatment rooms etc, although some of our fellow posters like to diss the facilities players, school staff and pupil's do not mix whilst using the facilities I'm told, let's hope we see more of the goings on behind the scenes and get a glimpse of those facilities.

 

Its a false narrative pushed by a negative nelly who falls back on it when he has exhausted all his other gripes.

Facilities are top notch. Ideal? No. But superb for a L2 outfit.

Nice touch with the itinerary for the day on the TV screen, and nice to see Hughes shaking hands and welcoming all the lads in the morning. Good vibes.

 

In all the years ive watched City thats the first bit of insight ive seen the club release for behind the scenes in training. Interesting watch.

I'm pretty sure I saw Truman near the end of the video as they're all walking back to the 'school'.

 

We are L2. Imagine if we spent all our money on training facilities, and zero on players.
Lower league football is proper shuffling of funds. I wouldn't want to be in charge of finances.

 

Talking of signing or not. Slightly off topic but I see Charlie Wood has signed an extension on his contract.

 

Absolutely right Dave,it is a school but what a school. It’s not exactly Bash street comprehensive. The facilities there will be better than most league 1 or 2 teams. Certainly far better facilities than when they used to train at international harvesters in the past. This negativity started when Grayson came and also Stephen Warnock who criticised it on tv,but they came during a dreadful winter when even the 3G pitch was ripped up by the wind and training facilities were hard to come by. The surroundings when you see them train with the wide open spaces are excellent.

 

Just going to post the video no sign of Watt, I can't see him being blanked out just to keep fans guessing, not a bad days work training in that glorious sun.
