Doubt Banks will be back next season

Its going to be much tougher next season.. Wrexham, Notts County coming up.. thats 2 of the auto places already gone..

i agree with you - its grim.

i think we have a problem in that Gillead was probably better than Smallwood towards end of the season but Richie is captain and on good money and could be tough to move on.

 

Think you can remove Lewis, Banks, Cook I wouldn't expect any of them to be here next season

 

I don’t want to hear about shortages of money tbh. We have a healthy budget thanks to sponsors and the fans. You won’t keep either of those if this club doesn’t go out and get the best and Richie Smallwood is not a captain and his play is ponderous, but he either leaves or fiddles around in training right at this moment I don’t care.

 

Who is gonna want to take him on his decent wage? I cant see many clubs queuing up for, as you say, a ponderous player.

cook staying/leaving will be interesting given they and gillead are so close.

 

I think we are stuck with him tbh. I do not want to see him I want to see his replacement he can come on as and when required. Did you see what he did today? Stubbs was urging them forward and he was urging them back!!!!

What a sad indictment of this season.

 

We desperately need more firepower in the side next season. Everything revolves round Cook who has no support. I’m sure Cook will leave so we will need two decent strikers and at least one midfielder who can score some goals. Gilliead , Clayton, Smallwood get about 4 between them in a season.

Banks staying at Palace. He was watched by Mark Bright and Dean Kiely at Swindon.

Where was our captain. He's been useless as both a player and captain. He is not a leader, when have you ever seen him urge the team or a player on.

We are in big trouble next season if we lose 2 of our best players (30 goal striker)and the ambition of the club should be questioned.

 

Bin Jamie Walker off. Hardly ever fit and doesn’t do a great deal when he is. He’s been a massive disappointment and I’ve seen far better attacking midfielders at this level. No idea where this notion that he is too good for this level came from but I’m not having it. 30 in the summer and will be on massive wages. Get rid.

 

Every season we seem to be back to square 1 as we can never build on what we have due to there always being a raft of departures of our better players.
Last season it was Vernham, Paudie and Watt who we never adequately replaced.
Who will we bring in next season to replace Cook, Lewis, Banks and Critchlow?

 

Literally everybody thought Stockport would walk the league.

If that happens, we might as well throw in the towel already.

If we sell Lewis for anything short of a King's ransom given he's on a 2/3 year deal, there's no way we replace him with better.

Cook will leave because we didn't bother offering him a deal, apparently, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not as good next season anyway.

Our tactics are there to benefit any centre forward, but we still need some quality up top.

What we need even more, though, are goals from the rest of the team.

They've slacked off badly this season.
