Those scores and Plymouth dropping points would be ideal. We could be 6 points off Charlton with 2 games in hand and 4 off Scunthorpe with 1 game in hand and them still to play.

However - As I posted earlier .... I think it's going to be tight, and our -ve GD will cost us a point, I think.

 

If we win every game then we’ll be in, drop a point anywhere and you’re right Ronnie, goal difference will finish us off.

Well, this thread is now redundant and can be closed. We had a chance and we’ve well and truly blown it.

Today’s results mean that Charlton and Scunny just need to win one of their next 2 or 3 games respectively. And that’s not even including the likes of Plymouth who are waiting for any slip-up.

This season is officially done and dusted

 

Not over yet. I can’t see Charlton getting another win.
If Scunny win next 2 before us they’ll be already there and won’t give 100% against us.
Pompey and Peterborough have gone and Plymouth have tough run in.
We win all 4 and we’re in

I’m all for ‘loyal’ Bantams, but deluded Bantams is something different. You think we’re capable of 4 wins? And Charlton won’t pick up 2pts or more from their final 2 games?

Well only time will tell, I don’t know why ppl want to squash hope, that is what being a football fan is hoping against all the odds. Sometimes you just don’t know, whilst supporting Bradford City I have often been very dissapointed with a point when we needed a win, but that 1 point just might be the difference.

We are now back home for 3 matches, let’s start there and see what happens.

 

I was trying to remember a team we gained a point and thought it was all over for the playoffs and I have just remembered.

It was when we were previously in League 1 1995/96. We were playing Swindon at home, and we all thought we absolutely needed a win to get into the playoffs. It was near the end of the season and only had a glimmer of playoffs. We ended up with a point, and everybody thought we had blown it. Just saying @PlatinumChaosX

 

Winning the 3 home games is key.
Do that and expecting that Blackburn will beat Charlton will leave us 2 points behind and needing Rochdale get something against them on final day with us winning at Scunny.
Tough ask but it’s still possible.

If we’d already played MK / Walsall and had 64 points with 2 to play would everyone have given up???? I think not

 

I think it’s the fact that you think a side with 2 wins out of their last 16 league games (or 2 from 9 under Grayson) can manage to win 4 on the bounce, whilst writing off all those teams above us, that is bemusing.

Even if Charlton don’t get another win, Plymouth are still 6pts in front of us (effectively 7 with our GD) and would be primed to step in if Charlton blow it. You do see this, don’t you? It’s not about ‘giving up’, it’s about being realistic

 

If we were playing sides in the top half away from home I’d say no chance but we are playing 3 of the poorest teams in the league at home with renewed confidence. Those games are very winnable and so is Scunny if they are preparing for play offs.
I do agree that Plymouth are the main threat if Charlton screw it up.

 

No chance of reaching the play offs. Forget it. Probably lose to franchise fc at home.
