And for those pinning their hopes on January, by that point it's likely that we'll need to show top 2 form for the rest of the season to have any chance of staying up.

And to think, the club were apparently nice and relaxed in the final week of the window because we'd 'done our business early'

    Shambles.

This is going to be a real struggle. Seven points adrift from safety already and another 9 league games before the transfer window opens. Without getting overly concerned, we could be 10, 12 or even 15 points adrift before any reinforcements arrive. And that will be a struggle to recover from over the second half of the season.

Plans for when we go down. Reduce Squad new squad to be a mix of good experienced players and promising young guys. Keep season tickets low as possible maybe slight increase.
Close upper kop, upper main stand corporate and gusts only plus 25 year ubber fans. TL Dallas home fans only.We will sell less tickets but still create an atmosphere. NWC either kids corner or Ultras. Last but not least new owners local consortium. Happy days promotion .

STs next season will be hilarious, if it's still the current w@nkers in charge then I seriously think it will be 6/7k even at give away prices, I'm going no where near the club until they f@ck off.

I'm concerned there will be a false dawn where they claim Edin has stepped back and is no longer involved.

Until I see he has moved back home and sold his entire stake, I just won't believe it.

One month on. Have we improved, not really.

Hopkin is as bad as Peter Taylor.

Hopkin isn't the man to take us forward, and the January window won't make a blind of difference. We're as good as down.

Edin is a *@?$. And so is rupp for not giving a feck.

Another issue is that one month on, those clubs in and around the bottom 4 have picked up wins or a point here and there. We’ve only managed 4 points.

December is massive. We’ve to look to take 7 points at a minimum IMO to stand any chance of getting out of this mess.

Which clubs are those? Everyone down there is in awful form. Scunthorpe included

Wit the exception of Wimbledon and Scunthorpe all the above have taken more points than us in the last 6 games. So I make that 5 clubs. Enough to ensure we don’t climb above them and get out of this mess, on current form.

A return to the form of the three matches prior to Luton will give us an outsize chance

Relegation isn't just about us chasing clubs above us to escape. There will be clubs hitting runs of poor form and will drop.Scunny are already doing that.

That's a perfect example of 'clutching at straws' our defensive display last night was beyond woeful........

Planning for League Two. Unless there’s serious appetite for investment - January needs to focus on players who’re prepared to play in league two and who have the talent, strength and heart for a scrap.

Chicksen, McGowan, Wright, Mellor, Brunker should all be shown the door. Followed by NKP and probably Akpan in the summer.

We need two proper centre backs and a Caddis type left back to support Wood, although I’d be inclined to give him a proper run in League 2. Henry won’t be here long, Reeves won’t be seen again so we need a couple of central midfielders. We need a winger. And we need two strikers. Minimum.

From the current squad, the only players I’d want to take into L2 are O’Donnell, Wood, Caddis, JoB, O’Connor, Colville, Doyle. Riley and Devine in reserve. Scannell won’t hang about.

It’s proper overhaul territory. A smaller, better squad. And for once, I’d like us to focus on building a proper attacking capability that can get goals. Bite the bullet, take the cost and build a side that can hit the ground running back on league one with a couple of quality additions - as Luton have done.

Oh, and 532 as a system can do one. We’ve never been able to play it. The only team I’ve seen do it well outside the championship is Sheff Utd. 442 with good attacking movement, midfielders with energy and passing ability, and some defenders who do the basics well. Piece of piss.

That's the problem though isn't it @Park bantam@Park bantam we put 3 decent performances together and think things are looking up and then capitulate once a mistake is made, as I posted last night we have no one who is commanding in the back line no leaders and until we get someone in like your McArdle, Davies, Meza and Darby we are always susceptible to caving in once we concede.

IMO, play like we did last night in the first 20 mins and second half, cut out these terrible capitulations and get a bit of luck, and we have the chance of collecting quite a few more points than the first 20 games of this season.

    4th Bottom relegated team

    2017/18 50 points
    2016/17 49 points
    2015/16 46 points
    2014/15 50 points
    2013/14 47 points
    2012/13 48 points

Very consistent, just a win & a draw between the highest and lowest totals. The average is 48.33 points.

We've got 14 points from 20 games 0.70 per game, that'd be 32 points over the season, but worse, over the past 8 games it's 0.5! To reach the average total means us needing 1.32 points per game from now on in...........and that might still not be enough.

How good would our January recruitment need to be for us to stay up? 100000% better than the last one I would say.

I'm not clutching at straws. If we escape it will depend on a few things and other teams being worse than us could help, along with decent recruitment in Jan,stopping suspensions and hoping for less injuries.

If you remember getting promotion when Exeter were miles ahead but went into freefall. That's the main reason we got promoted so what other clubs do,could affect what happens to us.

That's pretty easy to do seeing as last January's recruitment was horrendous.
