I do enjoy your comment on the villa thread saying how you cried (with joy I assume) at the end of the game and we had got through to the final. Then you come on here and slag off the manager who was a huge part of us getting there! Makes no sense.

Yes. Immediately.

I like what Hopkin is trying to do but imagine if we somehow got Parky back. It would give me faith for the relegation struggle ahead and if we were to be relegated that we could return quickly.

 

Can't disagree with the remarks about Stuart's side. There was some fantastic football on show and some fantastic moments.

But if you asked me the one trait that I miss most when watching the current team, its the feeling you got with Parky's sides that we never knew when we were beaten and there was always a belief that we could recover something from a match. Parky's football might not have been the most attractive but the ethic and culture of the team was infectious and that feeling of never giving up and feeling like we always had a chance before or during a game made each matchday exciting.

 

I can’t imagine he gives the slightest toss about Stuart’s managerial record.

Anyway, I’m going to bow out of this discussion gracefully now. Suffice to say, given the choice of either Parky or Stuart as manager, I’d take PP every time.

Yes. The best manager we have ever had. His CV speaks for itself.

 

Fair enough. No reason he should get any credit for keeping us in the football league, five years of progress, two Wembley appearances (including a major cup final) and a promotion. It was all down to luck and the fantastic foundations laid down by Peter Taylor and Peter Jackson

 

For the life of me, I cannot understand why any City supporter doesn't appreciate the manager who gave us Chelsea 2 - Bradford City 4.

 

Would love him back. Sadly will never happen.

 

We improved year on year, you seem to have forgotten that.

 

Not sure where I mentioned Messiahs but his record makes him better than anyone we had in the decade or so before him and anyone we've had since.

 

You don't give the man enough credit. Took us from heading to non league to league one play off contenders in five years, gave us two of the best cup runs we've ever had. Yeah, the football at times was effective rather than entertaining but you really need to understand that Phil Parkinson gave this club its pride back and made us feel proud to be City fans. Something Edin Rahic has done his best to destroy.

 

I'm not disputing whether Stuart is a good manager but its hard to understand this argument when Parky has three promotions with three of the five clubs he's managed on his CV and Stuart has zero with his five (inc the two spells with us).

Obviously Stuart had the great success with Motherwell but his record still doesn't quite compare.

 

Jeez. As if things aren't bad enough at the moment without revisiting @Ricc 's anti-Parky obsession in all its paranoid delusional glory.
