Stuart is a better manager than Phil Parkinson. and Stuart would have got us to the Championship (which PP didn't) if he hadn't been royally screwed over.

we achieved what we did INSPITE of Parky, not because of him.

Can't disagree with the remarks about Stuart's side. There was some fantastic football on show and some fantastic moments.

But if you asked me the one trait that I miss most when watching the current team, its the feeling you got with Parky's sides that we never knew when we were beaten and there was always a belief that we could recover something from a match. Parky's football might not have been the most attractive but the ethic and culture of the team was infectious and that feeling of never giving up and feeling like we always had a chance before or during a game made each matchday exciting.

 

I'm not disputing whether Stuart is a good manager but its hard to understand this argument when Parky has three promotions with three of the five clubs he's managed on his CV and Stuart has zero with his five (inc the two spells with us).

Obviously Stuart had the great success with Motherwell but his record still doesn't quite compare.

 

Was Parkinson banging your mum or something? You've given a very skewed view of actual events.

 

no he just stole a living off my club for 5 years, and piggy backed on the success of others despite his massive shortcomings and failings as a manager.

 

Fair enough. No reason he should get any credit for keeping us in the football league, five years of progress, two Wembley appearances (including a major cup final) and a promotion. It was all down to luck and the fantastic foundations laid down by Peter Taylor and Peter Jackson

As yourself I'm a big McCall fan, unfortunatly when Rahic got involved Parky saw it as a parting of the ways, I believe with the squad Parky had assembled that last season when Millwall beat us, a little bit more quality added I believe he would have taken us up the following season.

Parky wishes he was even nearly good enough to lace Stuart McCall's boots, as a player and manager.

 

I can’t imagine he gives the slightest toss about Stuart’s managerial record.

Anyway, I’m going to bow out of this discussion gracefully now. Suffice to say, given the choice of either Parky or Stuart as manager, I’d take PP every time.
