    Ferguson in his post match interview says that posh were in complete control of the game up until the first goal went in, lol. Don't know what game he was watching but I thought it was pretty even.

    “law 12;

    direct and indirect free kicks and penalty kicks can only be awarded for offences committed when the ball is in play.

    direct free kick;

    a direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
    • tackles or challenges
    if an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick.
    • careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. no disciplinary sanction is needed.
    • reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned.”

    No way am I doing that I thought we played well we were well organised and looked harder to beat. I just think we struggle when teams pack the midfield and leave no room. But great start to Bowyers 12 game stint

    Hard to work out why it's so bad. It's not as though we've had masses of torrential rain, we've had a very decent amount of sun over the last few weeks.

    So what. It was a bloody good tackle. Never a penalty in a million years.

    I agree it won't be at all easy but I do believe we are more likely than we were (before Bowyer) to get enough points to beat the drop.

    Was there contact though?

    Possibly about a few seconds after he kicked the ball.

    Note the primary element is - if it involves contact - everything else is after that.

    Doubt Hopkin or Evans could have engineered today's result.

    I know exactly what the rules are. The tackle was not a dangerous tackle, it was a mistake by the referee. I’d say most referees would not even think about giving a penalty. But then this particular ref had been giving strangely interpretated fouls for the last half hour so no real surprise he made an error.

    Thats exactly what players now do to get the game stopped when the oppostion are breaking. Players feigning head injuries happen regularly because they know the ref has no choice but to stop the game.

    @CT Bantam@CT Bantam - I think this was mentioned a few weeks ago. I thought we were late in starting the job for some reason and then I think Roger Owen (might have been someone else) said something about the cost of the work being substantially less than proposed or budgeted for. I can only imagine part of that cost reduction was the quality/ amount of seeding!

    I didn’t think the pitch looked too bad (to the naked eye) considering it’s winter. It certainly didn’t look that bad from the Sunwin stand. Certain areas are worn, but most pitches outside the prem and championship are.

    How does the pitch look from the midland road side?

    Nope.

    From the FA website:

    A referree:
    - 'allows play to continue until the ball is out of play if a player is only slightly injured
    - 'stops play if a player is seriously injured and ensures that the player is removed from the field of play'.

    There's nothing specific about head or muscular injuries. Head injuries are generally considered to be at more risk of serious injury, but any injury deemed to be 'serious' requires the referee to stop play.

    You could reasonably infer that any injury which forced a player to have to be substituted is serious enough.

    I don't really have a major problem with the way he handled that incident - but if anything he waited too long rather than acted too quickly. The biggest problem with the ref was that after about an hour he seemed to give them every little inocuous thing going, and his penalty decision was ridiculous. I was half expecting 6 or more mins of injury time to be announced.

    Evans might have.

    If he'd been in charge of Peterborough.

    it was careless; two feet off the floor, jumped in and not in control.

    i don’t agree with the decision but can see why it was given.
