Great result. Who said you can't polish a turd? Hope this win is the crucial one for our season and not the disastrous one at Walsall.

    Didn’t expect that result.

Looked organised and more balanced, we didn’t wilt and kept battling.

Good game something to smile about for a change.

If I had to question anything it would be the need to over play it at times in midfield, we had no width for an out ball, but it will be interesting to get Scannell back and have him as an option out wide.

C’mn on, yes he is good, but Butterfield was just ace, look likes he has played his way into form. He was outstanding admit it. Chicksen had Maddison in his pocket for the second half;)

There’s no point finishing fourth from point. The key is teams losing who were outside the relegation zone

They looked nervous to start but warmed to their task. I thought we defended properly today, much more solid display. Butterfield was the lynch pin in attack, it was a great watch. Didn’t see the pen but according to media etc, it was a great tackle. Referee was crap from start to finish he had no idea what was going on.

They weren't all sensible decisions. He chose to play two full backs that hadn't had much of a kickabout for quite some time. I'm pleased it didn't have a negative effect though.

His decisions at the attacking side of the pitch seemed to go well although we seemed a bit short of numbers in the box at times.

After the slating that O'Connor took last week and rightly so he was immense today best I have seen him play same for Akpan too. Ball and Doyle worked their socks off and with the way Butterfield looked at times way way above the rest on the pitch we have a glimmer of hope.

Massive win today, Bowyer got it spot on and we played some really good football. Nice to see he knows how to get the best out of these players.

Special mention to Akpan, was immense today. A proper captain's performance.

Although Butterfield is getting alot of praise on here, like in other games he did start out quietly-very quietly but grew into the game especially at the start of the second half (although he did disappear up the steps of the lower Kop at one stage) and like you i agree Ball had a really good game, a nuisance for peterboro' to deal with.
Bowyer may be more familiar with Mellor but it is Caddis, fully fit that we need more.
Keep on working with this midfield set-up, push Butterfield and Ball further forward and take our chances from there,go down fighting but at least attack the other teams.

Time to celebrate, do they still make Bowyers Sausages?

What did you all think of Anderson? Looked a little short of pace/fitness to me. Big fella. I thought he also played on the wing, but to me he didn't seem mobile enough. Played as a steady DM in the first half, but moved a little forward in the second. Decent enough performance, but after the full 90 mins, i'm still not entirely sure what he brings to the table. That's not a criticism, just trying to work out what sort of player he his.
Good on Bowyer for giving him a full run out. I suspect he would have been subbed for Payne, if the two early injuries hadn't messed up his game plan a bit.

Enjoyed that game today. At 84 mins I was jumping up and down, cos I had a tenner on us to win 2-0, but don't care about that. Hopefully we can build on this performance, just a bit of a shame we're playing the top of the table on Tuesday. No chance to recover the injured players, and more than likely a loss to dent our new found confidence. OR maybe not! CTID!

I don’t think his performance was anything to write home about, but what it did was give more balance to the team. Playing Butterfield, Payne and Clarke together at Walsall was a recipe for disaster.

That was easily the best team performance of the season for me. I've not been a massive fan of Akpan so far but that was a real captains performance today clearly hurt but had the balls to suck it up and keep going deserves a massive pat on the back..

The whole team played well but Jacob Butterfield was a different class. Please Gary never play him in that holding role again keep him where he can get us going like he did today. If we can somehow stay up and we could afford him I'd be so happy if we managed to sign him.
