Paul Caddis

Christ. Hasnt been seen since last November.

 

Paul McLean Caddis (born 19 April 1988) is a Scottish footballer who most recently played for EFL Championship club Blackburn Rovers. He predominantly plays as either a right back or right winger, but due to his versatility, and having two good feet, he can also play at left back and anywhere across the midfield. He has played for both Celtic and Swindon Town in all positions apart from striker and goalkeeper.

Sounds like he will offer the versatility across the park that we need.

 

In all honesty, if he can prove his fitness I'd take him right now. He has experience of playing in pressure campaigns with Swindon and Birmingham - pretty sure it was Caddis that scored the goal that secured Birmingham's safety on the final day a few years back. Anyone who knows an ounce of game management is welcome in this team.

At 5 ft 7, I think I'd prefer him at right back than centre back but its some welcome cover for many positions as well. Sounds like he's a decent penalty taker as well.

 

Take him, he can't do any worse than the current lot. To be fair, I'd sign up any passing living thing.

 

Even so, would surely be an improvement on Mellor

There’s far worse players in the team than Mellor. Thought he’d been doing OK recently.

 

How nice to have a thread talking about something football related! If he can run and he breathes sign him up, he's got to be better than what we've currently got.

We actually need a big hairy arsed centre back, I wonder whether Robert Huth wants to help us out.

Exactly Cibasteve - we are treading water with these though necessary signings to fill in gaps due to injuries. We need to bring in a good experienced defender - hopefully not too slow, good in the air and a forward who can battle opposition defenders - useful in the air and able to hold the ball up. A big ask but required if we are going to get enough points to help us stay up.

 

Correct Finley he was at training this morning and not frightened of putting himself around, not the biggest so I can't see him playing central defence, couldn't see either Scannell or Reeves there today.
