I too think Hunt and Tugendhat have a better chance that implied aswell. I don't want Hunt but those listed above many of them have sat by and allowed this shitshow to go on, defended this shitshow when all round could see they were taking the public for fools and only jumped at the death when they knew the game was up, so a swing away from those who allowed this to happen would be something I could see Tories getting behind.

It doesn't have to be a cabinet minister who takes over the reigns, infact anyone not in cabinet can go into a leadership contest completely free of any connection to recent events.

 

Just tell him they sell pints of wine in the House of Commons bars.

Always good to see Douglas Murray get under someone's skin, especially an absolute sewer rat like Alistair Campbell. How Campbell has the gall to question others morality after what he and Blair did is quite sickening. To watch him spit his dummy out was delicious.

Somehow, some people take them both seriously.

 

Somewhat mixed feelings on this... The man has a brain, and has been very good in getting Brexit done and supporting Ukraine -- the latter a pleasant surprise as, historically, the Tories have not been as sympathetic to the plight of countries and peoples oppressed and suppressed by the Russians as they should have been (curiously enough, Labour was much better in this regard).

But, the multiplicity of scandals and general bad behaviour is just not acceptable. CNN had a good piece on him, with a conclusion being, roughly paraphrased, that the joker who was nice to have around but not someone to consider as a leader, having finally achieved leadership, threw it all away by reverting to type. Leopards and spots come to mind. Just like our relegation a few seasons ago was a totally unnecessary, self-inflicted, relegation, this resignation need not have happened. But the leader chose to keep behaving like an immature schoolboy...

Of the potential leadership candidates mentioned a few posts above, just about the only one I'd have time for is Truss.

I think Dominic Cummings and John
