Just like johnson senior he went straight and got his EU passport so he can enjoy the freedom of movement that he implored you lot to abandon. Funny that eh?

I suspect, whilst publicly calling for him to resign, secretly a lot of Labour and Liberal Democrat politicians will be hoping he stays.

Boris will win tonights confidence vote, however like Thatcher and May he will be a dead man walking.

As for who replaces him, well if you can't find someone better out of the 350+ MPs they have, then what does that say about British politics.

    Absolutely.
Not a chance in hell he'll resign if he wins the vote, even if it's only narrowly. But the Tory Party will be in total chaos between now and the next election

What’s the current count on Tory MP’s over the last 12 years at now? I’m sure the next one will definitely get a grip and sort everything out.

The reason he will win the vote is because of the number of MPs who are getting a nice six figure salary by being ministers and junior ministers. They are hardly likely to vote against the status quo. Then you have those in safe seats for whom no matter who is in charge they will be returned to the commons at the next election. We have seen over 100 vote against the PM for the "Vaccine Passport" scheme and I would expect the number of MPs to vote against him today will be in the same ball park meaning Boris will win the vote by about 2 to 1. Which is the same margin of victory Theresa May had in her no confidence vote that did her no favours.

Exactly. Turkey's ain't gonna vote for Christmas are they? It's not Boris that's the problem although he is a massive tit who should be as far away from politics as possible. It's the Party itself and its policies that are the problem. Every public service being run into the ground while being overloaded to beyond breaking point. The countries infrastructure bar the self serving South East being not fit for the 21st century. Yet Johnson stands and has the brass neck to say he's doing a good job.
No wonder I try and steer clear of this, does your mental state no good at all.

Nadine Dorries and Jeremy Hunt are having a twitter spat now. Nads won't have anything said bad about her man and she isn't prepared to give up that ministerial car or salary just yet.

It's beyond politics now Tone. Every single service is breaking at the seams. Theres not one department where.you could say it's fit for purpose. Is this really what we expect of a supposed 5th or 6th largest economy in the world. Anyone who backs what we currently have should hang their heads in collective shame but they won't as their lives are never affected by any of this. They won't have to rely on the NHS or worry about their children's education in state schools. Neither will they have queue outside food banks or worry about heating their homes in the winter. To have the blond baffoon stand there and spout his utter shite every single day despite having no morals whatsoever should be enough to warrant a vote of no confidence. I won't hold my breath

It's the absence of ANY credible alternative that's stopping me from fully endorsing what you are saying...

There are credible alternatives. Unfortunately the PM surrounded himself wuth incompetents and sycophants when naming his Cabinet and those MPs with an ounce of credibilty were either booted out of the Conservative party at the next opportunity or largely relegated to the back benches or juinior posts. The last thing the PM needed were credible people in the Cabinet who might challenge him.

A few months ago I put the name of 3 largely unknown MPs on here who are well-regarded across Parliament, are trustworthy, honest and act with integrity in the HoC. There are others as well who would all make a more than credible alternative to the liar-in-chief.

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right ... think about such things”

Whoever arranged for Johnson to have to read this passage in St Paul's Cathedral deserves a bloody medal **so funny**so funny**so funny

The Tory party does need a new head at the helm of the ship. Unfortunately that only papers over the cracks. But for the short term at least a new successor is needed badly.
