Trouble is @Ricc@Ricc take his first season away when his task was to keep us up, which he did, and in most fans opinion the guy worked wonders season on season.
Even given the arguement it was all huff (which it wasnt) as fans we went to games knowing those 11 players on the pitch would give everything for 90 minutes, don't you find it a little strange that anyone who has followed Phil Parkinson have failed to do the same.
Stuart after inheriting several good players from Parky's time at the club and adding to it unfortunatly couldn't get us over the line.
I'm sure you'll disagree but that's my take on the Phil Parkinson reign at Bradford City and after.

Parky’s prehistoric clogger style of play made it a chore to go to valley parade and watch. We were awful. God awful.

Hardly a counter arguement against the points I raised ?.

Didn't you walk out early the other home game as you was pissed off ?, maybe watching Luverpool or Manchester City would be a better option ;).

Winning is all that matters, some fans make me laugh talking about styles then you get a Swindon in 15/16 who do nothing but pass and get relegated. I’d take winning over tiki taka any day.

However he is doing garbage there, he’ll be gone if his record doesn’t improve. Some players and managers work at some clubs but not at others for whatever reason, doesn’t change what he did with us.

I can't see how the fact we played at Wembley and Stamford Bridge is a counter argument for how bad we were to watch in those 5 years.

for one thing, that first wembley trip was pure luck.
the second one shouldn't have been required and we only got there because he bottled automatic promotion.

he is a 1970's relic and not even effective, like Don Revie's leeds but without the results. kick the opposition to bits. park the bus, and hoof to the big fella. if the big fella isn't playing, pick the next tallest and hoof it to him instead. all throw ins must be thrown down the line in the hope of winning another further down the pitch. same with goalkicks, freekicks. the lot.

he isn't a good manager, he might have been if he was managing in the era where football was not about tactics, and skills and finesse, but about how hard you were and how big and strong you were.

and all this is getting proved right now by Sunderland. an abysmal choice and I feel for their fans been put through this.

I listen to the Undr The Cosh podcast with Jon Parkin who has played under him along with ex team mates who have done the same. Seems Parky is a really strange bloke and no one seems to like playing under him. Seems he managed to find a select few when he managed us. Seems his methods are strange and does some really strange things behaviour wise. Quite a big section on PP in the Aaron Wilbraham episode the other week at his time with Bolton. Well worth a listen.

Another loss can’t see him lasting much longer.

And to Evans as well, as he ever beat him?

Tough to see where Parkinson goes if/when he gets the sack. Think his time at the bigger sized clubs will be over, the reputation of dire hoofball will be like a millstone round his neck.

Agree, for me he only works at clubs where the expectation isn’t as high. At Sunderland he’s expected to win every game and play well doing it. My boss is a Sunderland season ticket holder, he gives managers a fair chance tbf and didn’t want Ross sacking. But he’s already gone with Parkinson first time I’ve seen him be like this about a manager, they really don’t like him.

He'll never win them round, his football is painful to the point of turn fans against him pretty quickly. It literally is the Tony Pulis scenario. Even if he did work a miracle and get promotion i think they'd still want rid of him next season.

Glad us Bradford City fans and owners had a little more patience, and we have those great times and memories Phil Parkinson left us with..
Sunderland fans are deluded and as you say expect 3 points from every game because they are Sunderland.
Nothings has changed it has been a poison chalice for many years, you only have to look at the clubs turnover of managers since Roy Keane got them back to the Premiership
    Ricky Sbragia
    Steve Bruce
    Martin O'Neil
    Paolo Di Canio
    Gus Poyet
    Dick Advocaat
    Sam Alladyce
    David Moyes
    Simon Grayson
    Chris Coleman
    Jack Ross
    Phil Parkinson
a very similar situation to ourselves on our fall from grace with regards managers,
    Chris Hutchings
    Jim Jefferies
    Nicky Law
    Bryan Robson
    Colin Todd
    Stuart McCall
    Peter Taylor
    Peter Jackson
    Phil Parkinson
    Stuart McCall
    Simon Grayson
    Michael Collins
    David Hopkin
    Gary Bowyer
The Sunderland fans may not be happy but looking at that list of past managers they had managers who had some top flight credentials as managers, and they could not halt their fall to league one, they are IMO as delusional as many Leeds fans, without doubt Leeds are one of bigger clubs in the Championship but I can't see even a club like Leeds challenging the top 6 clubs in the Premiership which they look like they might do this season.

Realistically Parkinson needs to be given the January transfer window to sign players who want to play for Sunderland, he needs to get the best from Charlie Wyke

    Lost 8 out of 12.

It's the style of football mate and the Sunderland fans won't like it no matter who he brings in.

And counting on Charlie Wyke is a big ask as he's been poor for them since he joined.

But Sunderland fans are winners they want better for their club, it doesn't seem to be working, maybe these guys should have been told.

A basket case of a club, who have fans who are obviously prepared to put up with mediocrity as they still turn out in massive numbers to both home and away, here are there home attendances so far this season. attendances :
    Oxford 33,498
    Portsmouth 29,140
    AFC Wimbledon 29,725
    Rotherham 29,078
    MK Dons 29,954
    Tranmere 28,551
    Southend 30,407
    Coventry 29,809
    Burton 26,538

Maybe the fans having ambition and want winners is not working ?.

Looking at that list of managers though most of them shouldn't of been managing Sunderland.

The problem with Sunderland is it has no footballing identity! None of them managers really play exciting football and they've gone backwards with the dull football management tactics. It looks like Parky is getting it because they're done with the boredom but will attend because a bit like at Newcastle they live for football.

When Parky put McGeady, Watmore and Wyke on the bench and lose then he's asking for trouble from the Sunderland fans.

But at the time of appointing those managers both the clubs owners and most fans would have been happy, yes there may have been some who weren't but you get that at every club.
My point is with regards fans wanting better for the club and the club to be ambitious etc I'm sure turning up in those numbers at times the fans were pissed off as some are saying they are now, I'm sure the Sunderland directors thought Parkinson was the man to get them going again when he took over they'd only played 12 league games, unfortunately it hasn't had the desired effect at Sunderland, changing manager again would hardly guarantee promotion or stave off the possibility of relegation although that doesn't look on at this moment, but losing games is a bad habit to break.

Sunderland need to admit their error and act now, or their season will be over by the new year.

an awful appointment, this was always going to happen. I can't wait til he gets fired, and ends up on the football scrap heap where he should have been all along.

    egotistical fraud.
