I can't agree with you there. He's clearly not terrible - though his style is maybe more one-dimensional and harsher on the eye in footballing terms.

He'll take Sunderland up, if not this year then next. And you're talking about a club who's enjoyed its most enjoyable recent history with a standard 442, big man/little man partnership. And Parky is great a turning 'failing', 'large' clubs. Stylistically they're made for each other until he at least stabilizes them in the Championship. Then they'll probably go for someone more 'stylish'.

 

And won POTY last season....

 

Yeah understand the owners might want to give him time but the fans might not.

Fans tend to win in these situations.

The problem is that the Ross was sacked in 6th and Sunderland have got worse.

 

Was in Sunderland this morning Parky is about as popular as a magpie according to a couple of supporters I was speaking too. Can't see him lasting much longer the way results are going.

Tough to see where Parkinson goes if/when he gets the sack. Think his time at the bigger sized clubs will be over, the reputation of dire hoofball will be like a millstone round his neck.

 

He'll never win them round, his football is painful to the point of turn fans against him pretty quickly. It literally is the Tony Pulis scenario. Even if he did work a miracle and get promotion i think they'd still want rid of him next season.

He did a fantastic job at Bradford City, he was the right fit at the right time, nobody, not even you, could deny that

 

Until he takes hold of another lower league club in crisis and stops them getting relegated and/or gets them promoted and keeps them up. As he did at Colchester, City and Bolton.

 

Agree to a degree there, think we might have got lucky with Parkie, think his heart was in the club at the time but his football ( as today ) could be hard work to watch sometimes...

 

I'm currently watching it, a truly pitiful game of football. Sunderland were booed off at half time, not a shot on target for either team. Reminds me of somewhere else.....

 

Sunderland were in a bad way when he took the managers job, but not the basket case that Bolton had become. the way Parkinson has them going it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't take Sunderland up as Champions.
Credit to the man, looking back at some of the comment a few have a fair bit of egg on their faces.

I bet you detested those 5/6 great seasons under "The Special On" a promotion, two Wembley Finals, great wins over the likes of Aston Villa, Arsenal, Watford, Wigan, Watford being the only team outside the top flight and rewriting the football history books, WOW little old Bradford City.
Let's not forget that great FA Cup run starting by knocking over the likes of Halifax, Dartford and Millwall then a certain Chelsea after coming back from a 2 goal deficit scoring 4 yes 4 great goals not a fluke amongst them unlike Cahill's Bradford City being the only English club to kick Chelsea's arse at Stamford Bridge.
Robbie Fowler saying that night on Match Of The Day, Bradford City's win at Stamford Bridge was in his opinion the biggest giant killing game in the history of the FA Cup Jermaine Jenas agreeing with him, maybe on reflection you're right the vast amount of Bradford City fans were well and truly taken in, lets hope Stuart McCall can bring the club half as much success, then both you and Stuart can crow about his achievements as a manager.

 

Parkinson was class he could have taken us to the championship if it wasn't for the meddling german fraud

I'm more concerned about the manner in which he left us. I can understand his reasoning's but his departure and his conduct always left a very bad taste oin my mouth.

As far as helping him now get can stuffed as far as I am concerned.
