I get the sentiment Chris, but how was Payne being double-marked his “greater failing”? Surely it’s the failing of his team mates to not find that extra space created by Payne being double marked?

 

Also, if he went for money like that, he will have done very well for us. Think he is an excellent signlng but don't see him as a Dean Richards who was in our first team at 17 and even though he had a good career, think it was stalled somewhat by a car accident.

 

Since when has any sell on clause been a 60/40 split in favour of his previous club? The max Leeds will receive, I’d guess, is 25% of any fee we receive (certainly not 60%)

 

I’d reckon more than 25 as they have forfeit what they would have got even if out of contract

 

As do most of these deals? Didn’t we have a similar deal for Cole? Not sure they demanded in excess of 25%.

For all we know, we’ve offered a sum if we get promoted, offered them 1st refusal on any sale and 25% on any sale. I think suggesting upwards of 25% is rare if ever been

 

Geez man! It was just an extreme example to illustrate the point that whatever the split, it still looks like a good deal for us! Why do you have to question EVERYTHING?

I think the answer to your second question can be found in your tag line. You acknowledge that your style can appear brash and rude and whilst you say it isn't your intention, it's certainly how it comes across at times. It's a shame because you often make very good points.

 

In my opinion he is a top league one bottom championship player. He needs player around him but is clearly very talented. Salford will be promoted if they get him

 

Simple, really.
Payne found himself 'boxed in', but did little to alleviate that. In fact, he did nowt, but shrink. Perhaps that's why GB dropped him ?

Being shrewd, Payne could have played himself into trouble, yet also had a game plan to bring others into play ? Simply, he didn't. YES ...... Other players WERE to blame, also ........ BUT, Jack - as leader, should have known better.

I often did this in MY days, ....... I made a SACRIFICE for the greater good of the TEAM

 

Let’s remember this is Bolton & Ken Anderson. Just because they offered £1m doesn’t mean they ever had any intention of paying that amount

 

Interesting one that Forest Green must have been owed a lot of money for that transfer as it’s a football debt will it need to be paid by the new owners who look like being football ventures fronted by a pop star I believe

 

They were due £250k didn’t receive it so cancelled the agreement and were also paying his wages the whole time. So I’d imagine they’re due £250k plus wages.. and will the sue for more further down the line
