They also have Keith Curle as their manager, so I'd be surprised if they were promoted. I think they might choke in the playoffs. Another City vs Northampton playoff final?

......And Oscar Threlkeld, Dan Jones and Joey Jones.

I wouldn’t be comfortable over looking Salford - Graham Alexander is just getting going now after getting them into the EFL. I predict them being top 3.

    Isherwood.:joy::joy:

he was awful. some folk on here thought he was gonna be brilliant based on the fact he was once registered with Bayern's second team.

The big difference being that it was thought he might perform in the championship. He has proven he can't really so his price drops, but as you say gutting. it could have worked the other way of course if he banged in a few goals they could have got more. I would be chasing Bolton for that money though as a football creditor

I agree, Dave ............ BUT ......... It's up to other players to take advantage of that. TWO men on one player leaves 'one' spare on our side, does it not ? THAT was our (and Paynes) greater failing, last season.
You take your chances, or suffer the consequences, which we did .... SO many times ! :(

Put another way Dave, I’d have Payne back in a flash if we could find some mugs to take McCartan off us.

And some were suggesting we re-sign Butterfield. Even in Payne’s poorer games, he still did as much as Butterfield

Geez man! It was just an extreme example to illustrate the point that whatever the split, it still looks like a good deal for us! Why do you have to question EVERYTHING?

They always seem to have a huge turnover of players and they always seem to do it fairly early. Seemingly with very mixed results though.

    Plymouth lost Freddy ladapo too.

I’d say we have seen the benefit of keeping Bowyer from last season and we are ahead of the pack.

    Means nothing though really

Nobody. There is nobody in this tin pot division that we should even think about, never mind consider a rival.

Andy Cook could do well for Mansfield (free from Walsall).

Carlisle have lost Jamie Devitt (gone to Blackpool, undisclosed).

Josh Morris has left Scunny for Fleetwood.

Orient have sold striker Macauley Bonne to Charlton (undisclosed).

Graham Carey left Plymouth for CSKA Sofia.

Northampton signed Nicky Adams from Bury and Alan McCormack from Luton.

Richie Towell left Brighton for Salford.

I definitely think we're ahead of the game now.
Just need to sort midfield and a winger who
can play either side and we're looking good.

A trip to bookies is in order way things are
    shaping up.

Totally agree with this. Our recruitment so far has exceeded
my expectations and still more to come.Other teams will of
taken the view, even more, that we are the "big boys" and the
    team to beat.

Consistency will be crucial every game as we will have to beat
teams raising their game every week.

My mate is a Scunny fan and he’s delighted with the Butler signing but he says they’ve a lot of high earners to move on before they bring many more in. Same position I thought we were in but we’ve done pretty well so far!

i have this on for City to go up, cash out is at £630 already off £50 but also needs Man City Premiership & Sunderland to also go up... think its looking good though

City were 5/2 but after the first few signings dropped to 7/4 i see the odds have shortened even more now...

Strange bet that pal, betting on a match result and then betting on events that will end next year? Fair play to you, I haven't seen anything like it before!
