What a crap away day Sutton is.
You are an uber fan.
Are you going by crossrail to Sutton.
I looked at that.
15 miles across London.
Takes over an hour ffs.
How much did they spend on that??

 

For those going in the car to Orient, it was very easy parking at Epping at the end of the M11.
Jump on the tube and it's 20 mins down to Leyton.
Was home in North Leeds by 8.30pm last season.

Looks like the fastest route is KC to Moorgate, walk to Liverpool Street and train to Leyton Underground. 21 minutes but it will take at least ten minutes, possibly more, to navigate the Warren of tunnels and masses of people below KC mainline Station.

General, the twice I've done it by train recently is Tube from KC to Liverpool Street (either Circle or Metropolitan lines)then Central to Leyton followed by a 10 minute, at my age, walk up Leyton High Street and on your left is the ground.

By the way for others talking Sutton, last season I did 9.28 from Wakey to KC, walked across to St Pancras for the 12.12 to WEST Sutton, not all trains stop there. The ground is directly across the tracks from the station, 5 minute walk. You can get a train to Sutton, not West Sutton, then it's a 20 minute walk. For the return catch the 17.22 from West Sutton.
Others are right, the journey from St Pancras stops everywhere, 58 minutes.

Yeah, changed my plans. Can't be arsed stressing for 20 squid.... Arrive 10.30

 

Into KX just before 12, Thameslink from downstairs at St Pancreas, less than an hour to Sutton, lunch at Spoons, (avoid WDM) walk to ground.
Plenty of time to get back to KX, a few celebratory beers, train at 19.57.
As you say, it a bit of wing and a prayer job with Grand Central.
