I, too, was very disappointed with Palmer.

 

He’ll be quality once her gets going with the right service, just hope he stays fit. It would have been goal of the season within the first 30 minutes had it gone in.

If Bowyer was wanting to play someone behind V & D i'd have kept Billy Clarke FFS. And he'd have played for minimum wage and a taxi from home and back.

I thought as the second half went on Gibson was trying to do what Palmer was doing when his job when moved out left was to attack the full back. Kept cutting inside too much.

 

Haha he was on good form today, seemed sober which is unusual and didn't mention Phil Parkinson once.

 

It was Gibson who played in Vaughan for the overhead, not Palmer.

 

I hope both Bowyer and the players learn from today. Next week, we need to see the correct players playing in a system which suits them. But likewise the players need to learn fast how to break down a team like we saw today because another 20 teams will come to VP and do the same.

 

You can be pissed off at the performance and result but also still be optimistic about the season

He was sat with Rhodes, we were sat a few yards away (in the posh seats for once) but you couldn’t really hear boo’s. Don’t think you need booing to see we’ve needed a left winger (that we’ve not addressed for years) and a half decent centre mid.

 

Just one real point to discuss from yesterday, from me.........Quality !!

Yesterday was quite a letdown, without a doubt ......... from both a Club and Supporters view, OK ?
Much earlier in this thread @Botswana Bantam and myself were very 'surprised' to see the team sheet upon it's release, and we both expressed our views at that time, in terms of personnel and setup.

However, yesterday had little to do with selection or tactics. Nor did it have too much to do with attitude, effort and application. Given the players available for selection, yesterday exposed in a raw and ugly fashion just what many have been saying for weeks ....... Our current squad lacks depth in real quality.
Yesterday was never about a lack of heart or desire. It's much more simple than that - currently City are not good enough to challenge, as yet. And no matter how much this squad gels - It lacks the quality to achieve a top 3 placing.
Here's hoping this is addressed, and quickly, before the current window closes.

 

True, but Rupp as a footballing novice doesn't have the benefit of Rahic's wisdom now. Hopefully Bowyer will be up in his ear, it sounds like we're deffo a player or two short.
