I only watched it on TV .... But (truthfully ;) ) ....... How many even dared to think City would reach the final ?

Very happy days, and the first time in years I stayed up beyond 03.00 just soaking up all the headlines. :)

Although it's the FA Cup ........ Can City actually beat Peterborough (tonight), then Middlesborough ?
Never say never, an' all that ! Bring on the glory days, lads. :brig:

The villa home leg topped it for me, in terms of a home game. We battered them in that spell in the last 15 minutes or so on set pieces and Mchughs goal put us into dreamland

It was probably the first truly big moment following this club that I could really appreciate. I was too young and naive to truly appreciate 1996 through to 1999 - those were my first years following the club so it was my norm. I hadn't had any pain to compare those years with. But this night six years ago, there was around a decade of decline to call upon and I was old enough to fully realise what we had achieved and how much we deserved it for sticking with the club through dark times.

I remember everyone feeling quietly confident pre-match, "anything can happen", up until Arsenal's team was announced. An incredible night which I often like to remind myself that it actually happened via WOAP's coverage at the time.

Yeah, loved that too but the prospect of the second leg just took that edge of it.

Everything about the Arsenal night was perfect. I can even remember weird little details about it.

I can remember dropping my kids off at their dance class about 6.30 feeling how cold it was as I got out the car and thinking "Arsenal won't fancy this" and immediately thinking how stupid it was to consider it.

I remember standing in the bogs as the teams were read out, fully expecting a bit of a weakened team from Arsenal. As the list of superstars was read out the guy at the side of me just quietly going...."fecking hell".

I remember Santi Cazola being put on his arse right in front of us and hitting the rock hard ground with a massive thud and his whole demeanour oozed how much he didn't want to be there.

Actually unbelievable when you think about that night.

Massively. We had a terrible angle of that miss at the ground and thought he must have been miles away.

Watching it back on tv was like
