He'd have to wait 2 years to do that. Contracted until 07/21. Also an option for a further year which obviously you would be aware of, is usually heavily weighted on the side of the club.
Quite a while before he does a 'Bosman'

I just think he seems happy at Swansea at the moment. And as you say another good season would enhance his chances of a really good club coming in for him. Having said that I believe Sheffield United are interested and as I rate Wilder highly it could be a good move for him.

I can see clubs saying Che Adams is a year younger and cost 5 million less. We are not paying 20 for mcburnie.

I’m not suggesting he is but that would be the only way to force a move through if he wanted to go in the future.

There's less than a month age difference from what I can see?

I believed the clause existed prior to Sparks, or anyone else recently, confirmed it as it had been previously confirmed plus I have no query that it will be used to reduced debt. My query was with those saying the payment would go straight to Rupp

The contract between the two clubs isn't his data at all. It is nothing to do with him. The best non football example I could give would be the sale of a property. If someone owns a property and rents it out but decides to sell it the person that lives in the flat wouldn't get details of the sale eg price paid that would be between the buyer and seller. I know it isn't exactly the same but best I could come up with.

Which ever easy you look at it, Swansea are going to make a killing on a player they paid less than £300k for. Had he still been with us we'd have got a fraction of the amounts being banded about. Granted it was in the championship, but as a club, we just don't seem to command big fees for our players compared say to a Barnsley or a Peterborough.

Add Luton to that list, their last two players have gone for good money, far more than anything we've ever recouped.

We are always desperate to sell, as in we always seem to need the money. We can’t seem to allow the player to develop and then move on. Could be one of the reasons.

Unfortunately that is the way the club has been funded for many years now. Cheap season tickets and live on cup runs and selling talent

Not sure using West Brom as an example was a good idea. They're in huge financial difficulties with last seasons parachute payment finding it's way into the Chinese owners pocket. They're selling the 'family siverwear' with Dawson gone, JRod about to go and successful loanees unlikely to return. Also, regarding their 'incremental improvement', with the exception of 2016 , they've finished in a worse position in each of their last 5 seasons. As it stands, they'll have to sign 3 new players every week until the season starts to have the same numbers as last season. And thats if they don't let any more players leave which is unlikely.

We have been a selling club throughout our whole history. And that’s true for most if not all lower league clubs

True, but the issue is the prices received

Even when we sold Nakhi Wells to Dog Botherers we got next to nowt for him in reality compared to likes of Peterborough, Barnsley, Luton etc for players they have sold over last few years...

Without much research I don't believe so but at the time I know people felt it was low, again happy to be proved wrong if it is the case.

Ok so similar age. So why is one worth 5 million more than the other?

It could be for numerous reasons.

    Length of contract remaining,
    Desperation of selling club,
    Desperation of buying club,
    Player forcing a move,
    Club not wanting the player,
Release clauses ..... need I go on?

Because Oli has been much more prolific in terms of goals scored per minute in comparison to Che?
