I am sure someone has the answer, but in my 62 years supporting City l can't remember so many league defeats in a season.

It was clear to all what we needed in January and it sounded like Hopkin thought he would get the money. Keeping Payne seemed a must at the time, with hindsight it’s cost us dearly. Something else must have changed. Perhaps Rupp found out just what a mess Rahic had really done with the finances and that suddenly made him reluctant to commit even more? When Rupp said he would put it all right he may not have understood just how much it was going to cost him. Bringing in more midfielders instead of what was required was just bizarre and perhaps Hopkin felt he was let down and he would be the one left to take the blame for relegation.

Be glad when this season is over and we can wipe the slate clean and start again.
One thing that’s annoyed me is Rahic went ages ago and the players are still hiding behind it and getting a free ride and every post comes back to Rahic. At least next season we can face the players up and they can have no excuses.
How a O’Connor was allowed to continue playing for this club after Portsmouth is beyond me. He was lucky a new manager came in when he did.
The rest have had a free ride since and it’s shocking. Not one can come out with any credit for me.Silverbantam and Morley Bantam like this. -

I wasn't positive throughout this entire season though, you'll of seen plenty of negativity from myself during Edin's dictatorship, but now he has gone the damage is done. We must remain positive whilst the club start rebuilding. It'll probably be a tough few years to get back to where we were, but I intend to remain positive throughout and give the club my full support.

@Dennis made a compelling argument around Rupp, the covering of debt and companies House. If this was the case, why did wetherbywhaler say it would take us 5 years to recover?

I think it was Hopkin decision, but I doubt he did it blind. Maybe Rupp told him this is how much we can spend, if you want I will sign Payne, but x is left. However, don’t know why Hopkin signed more of the same, better we sign none, although they won’t cost us anything further, but still!
I would prefer Rupp et al to tell us straight.Interested Bystander likes this.
