Looking back to when these plans were first released on page 1 of this thread, my thoughts were,

"It says £100m cost. You mention £50m fund.
Where is the other £50m coming from?
Why the frig do the Bulls need a 25k stadium when their gates are sub 3k and they don't have a pot to piss in.
Another pie in the sky plan for Superdome mk27.

The £625m these visitors would bring makes me laugh. That's £500 for each visitor.
So a lad and his dad watching a Bulls game is expected to generate £1,000. Is Salt Bae doing the catering?"

Cllr Hinchcliffe said yesterday it was a high calibre bid however it was pulled to pieces at launch. 1.25m visitors, a fully covered stadium for a summer sport, 25k seats for a tenant which only sees 4k average gates, a solar farm, hotels, shopping centres. It was just pure fantasy.

If 25 years ago someone took a step back and proposed a Bolton, Huddersfield, St Helens, Wigan, etc type stadium all this would be off the ground. Instead we have visions of a 70k superdome wembley of the north and this latest one a fully covered stadium with solar farm. Sorry but the councils idiotic visions rather than common sense approach have hamstrung this project at every stage.

The Bradford Bull could benefit with a plan with isn't stupidly far fetched. York have a new stadium that is fitting to the City and the clubs which is why it got off the ground. Sadly this isn't the last we will see of this new plans will be drawn up in the future which will have daft addons to make it completely unviable, after all thats been the story for the last 30+ years.

The reason is that Odsal once apparently hosted a match in 1954 when 102,569 spectators attended. This feat is irrevocably etched in the Council’s mind. They seemingly cannot understand that the site is not really fit for major sport.
If the figure of £100 million is to be believed, then as the land is owned by the Council (not sure how long it is leased out for), then this is an immense sum for a small/mid size stadium.
    Poorly thought out.

Landfill , no further ideas or plans required. The revenue stream would be huge.

It's that time of year again, Bradford Bulls begging Bradford Council to redevelopment Odsal for them. They want the council to buy back the lease which the Bulls sold and pocketed the cash for.

In retrospect maybe tabling a bid which put a roof on the terrace, and updated the facilities without a fantasy dome stadium with solar farm, hotels and leisure complex or countless superdome plans might have actually seen something done.

It's not happening... Last I heard was rumour of selling odsal for landfill and council buying valley parade

Redeveloping it and bulls moving in

Possibly more chance of the superdooper dome happening

What's certain is odsal ain't getting redevelopment

Having read the article then with Bull crowds of under 3,000 and with Rugby Super League crowds generally under 10,000, then developing Odsal is a fantasy. They could play at Horsfall, or if they are very polite then Valley Parade. Odsal is an open money pit and would be a waste of Tax Payers money.

If bulls get in superleague which they would with a decent stadium they would get 7k gates minimum and possibly 10k against Leeds etc

Way too big for horsefield ... Only option is VP or stay in championship forever

And so they should. People don't pay their rates at record highs to support a rugby club who keep turning up cap in hand.

The council, Bulls and City should have got together and built a brand new shiny stadium. STADIUM ONLY. With top facilities as well as a training ground that both can use.

VP is fine for now, but it's starting to show it's age and it's unlikely city will be able to fund any redevelopment and doubt Gibb will.

Exactly, landfill then later sell the land. Use the proceeds or future capital from it to buy back Valley Parade from the Flamingoland Pension fund and then redevelop Valley Parade for both City and the Bulls/Northern. That should give Valley Parade a capacity of around 30,000, enough for any progress we eventually make.
I know a lot of people would pour cold water on this idea but as a Bradfordian of 66 years I feel it is a much better idea than continually pouring money into Odsal Stadium or chasing dreams that will never happen.

Maybe they can dismantle Stadium MK and rebuild it at Odsal?

I think their idea Rod is to get back into Super League and history has shown that then they would generate decent crowds. I don't know about you but personally I remember watching City regularly at Valley Parade in crowds of around 4,000. I've got no problem with you rubbishing "pie in the sky" plans for Odsal or Bradford Council but as a Bradfordian I do take issue with you slagging off a Bradford sports club.

Well it’s a labour council so they persistently rubbish anything that would improve the city.
They’re quite happy to build mosques on every street corner though and turn a blind eye to illegal parking every Friday afternoon.

One option for the Bulls/Council would be to sell off the stadium as landfill and build a small 8/9000 seater stadium on the Richard Dunn site. It’s currently a listed building which actually means it’s left to rot. Unfortunately there’s no unity between Bulls and City supporters about ground sharing but it’s a success at Hull, Wigan, Huddersfield who all boast championship football and Super league Rugby. The other problem of course is the Bulls are totally skint and would contribute nothing to any redevelopment. They only got back to Odsal by relying on the Stock car people getting Odsal into some shape.

Well in the past the council have done more for the Bulls than Bradford City, but surely in these times they cant give council tax payers money to a privately owned business, can they, I'm not sure if Mr Khan paid the loan back the council loaned him, I don't think I've read anywhere he did even though different parties have questioned the council many times.
