I realise we have a skill issue in our back 4. However, we can’t even get the basics right. Marking up, stop crosses coming in, good connection with the goalie, clearing the ball. That is the very least we can expect.

 

Very good point. How many limited teams have we seem come to VP over the last few years and give very little away simply through being organised.

Hence my point about NKP. After the second, he gave up. Stopped even trying to follow Eaves. He may not have been alone, but he stood out.

The lack of of fight and work ethic in this team makes it hard to want to support them through the off field challenges we have.

 

He had mccardle,vincelot in good form and Meredith along side him to hide his shortcomings.

 

McGowan, O’Connor, NKP, Mellor, Isherwood, Riley all about as solid as a wet paper towel. Wood has potential but must feel like he is on the titanic

 

I agree that O'Connor, and for me MacGowan, are as bad as NKP, eg. absolutely woeful. Watching O'Connor get at Isherwood after one of the Gills goals made me a bit angry, he's not in the position to be bollocking anyone, he's part of the problem. Fans' opinions at his last club seemed split and I can't see anything that suggests he's good enough for this level. We need a couple of decent CBs in Jan as top priority.
