Stubbs and Platt produced this run, whilst partnering at CB. 7 clean sheets in 11 games. 6 goals conceded in 11 games. Why would you break that partnership up like we have so many times this season?

No I agree, his performances last year to this are chalk are cheese. It's easy to blame the Taylor affect, although playing alongside him v Wrexham didn't seem to affect him.

Both centre halves are to similar for me, even throw platt into the mix for that argument. All three are your stereotypical Lumps of wood if you will. They will stand there and deal with long ball after long ball all day long, but as soon as they come up and against pace and movement then all three are snookered.

This where we made the error with not replacing critchlow with a like for like defender, and having too many of the same player (pretty much like the whole squad to be honest)

I do agree but Stubbs and Platt dealt with pace and movement on the run posted above.

We just need to renew the partnership and we'll be fine I think.

Platt and Stubbs played every game after the first game until Platt got himself suspended for Wrexham when Stubbs and Taylor did well together. As a back 4 this season they've played together in 6 league games which we won 3 and lost 3 conceding 8 and only keeping 2 clean sheets so they've not been a great partnership this season.

Compare that to the results when Taylors played and feel free to apologise when you've realised your post is really daft.

Stubbs was and has been worse. Let's be honest about this, it's more than just one player. That Wrexham fan who came on here the other day was right. He said we would get hammered if we didn't press them all over the pitch, he said they would play it through and round us, which they did, we were like statues in that first half. 2nd half we set about it the right way, and I don't agree we this "Notts County took their foot of the gas". We just started doing things the right way.
I agree about some individual players, Ash Taylor at 34 his legs have gone, Sam Stubbs is only 25? but plays like a guy in his late thirties and his decision making his terrible.

They are both as bad for different reasons.

Stubbs is very slow so its essential you cover that weakness by not pairing him with someone even slower.

Poor call from GA having seen them together vs Barrow himself already.

And the guy who goes out looking for the players and recommends them is still at the club.
