The players do have that attitude. We've bombed when we become well placed, then find a result when we're lagging behind. We haven't been a top 3 side all season. We've always been in the group behind.

 

I criticised Cook before he was left out but I have to say since then not only has his goalscoring been brilliant but his all round play as well. He no longer fouls every time he challenges and in this instance you have to give massive credit to Hughes who obviously worked hard with him. I see a big Mansfield fan every Sunday in Filey (some good banter tomorrow) he said their fans couldn’t wait to get Cook out the door. So his hard work and Hughes coaching have transformed him from a jobing centre forward to one of the best.

 

Did you manage to contain yourself when we scored the winner? A better man than me if you did!!!

 

He's certainly improved under Hughes, but he still contributed before he was dropped after his poor performance at Carlisle, you've watch plenty of Bradford City strikers in the past who's main job was to score goals, I can't remember Campbell, Mills,Futcher, McCole, Stokes, Leighton, breaking their balls getting back to help out, in fact the only one who stands out with regards helping out was Hanson who never stopped grafting for the team.

 

He's just a young lad who hasn't coped with starting in big games.

 

I agree, pretty much. He's definitely worth backing. Tweaks to his squad and approach will take us up next season.

You have to wonder what all the fuss was about bringing the kid Bola in then Foulds saying he wanted out, pointless piece of business IMO, both Ridehalgh and Foulds were capable of playing that position.

The inner city is exactly the same as most inner cities, the ring around that is good and the ring around that very good.

Orient were average and that’s being kind.

That’s the mindset we need to have and what fans expect.

 

Weirdly, I'm more confident of beating Northampton than I was Swindon or Gillingham.

Has to go for it. This is a huge test of the team, it's the most pressure they've had all season as this one is now becoming a bit more must win than they would have envisioned even 10 days ago. If we fail to win this one, I fear for the play offs. I don't want to go to Crewe with it being must win as Crewes home record is pretty good, 10 home games this season and lost just 2 but they've won 3 on the spin at home scoring 9 goals. Whereas our away record isn't as good as people assume, just 1 win in the last 5 away trips which was to bottom of the league and we didn't score in 3 of those 5. Then entertain the champions.

Northampton are the walking wounded at the minute. Hoskins is having to play right wing back for the season, the rest of their 5 man defence last week was Norman Jr on his 4th start of the season (subbed at HT), the 20 year old Max Dyche who had just his 3rd start of the season and Sherring who has been a main defender and Ryan Haynes who had just his 13th start of the season. Just 1 experienced defender marshalling a back line which has one of the leagues best attackers playing wide and inexperienced lads. They took off one of them at HT last week and brought on a DM to play in the centre of defence as it was a better option. One of their midfielders was a young lad on just his 8th start. The strike force is great still, but this team is so bundled together at the minute, they will leave it open for chances. If Cook can get on the younger lads, bully them a bit and the attackers fill the space, this is a team to be attacked.
