Poetic justice for Crichlow

 

Once again we have to see just what Cook offers, he's got IMO some unnecessary stick for not offering enough to the team he was back heading the ball away from corners/set pieces during the game but winning that header from the late free kick he could have gone for goal but unselfishly headed it back across goal for a simple header in for Critchlow.

 

If we lose both games I'd think any GD advantage we had would be wiped out., 3 points at Crewe would be great but we cant lose and leave it to the Orient game at home that would be some pressure.

 

I'll be honest early in the season I thought Halliday was not good enough and a total liability, but tbf after the last season he'd had he was bound to be rusty as he got back up to speed and now gladly i'm happy to have been wrong, yes his defending is questionable at times but what an engine he has and the ground he covers is immense so as a result he's going to make the odd rash decisions probably due to exhaustion, but he's just got better and better as the season went along. As regards to Ridehagh I've never got any of our fans criticism towards him as he's always been a steady away good enough full back for L2, yes he's not got the attacking ability of Halliday but he's the steady experienced pro all teams need at this level.

 

If having your watch nicked is the barometer of being a shit hole then I'd suggest there are many worse places than Bradford in those continents you've named.

 

I'm obviously rubbish when assessing full backs . For all his obvious qualities, in attack and defence, I seem to recall Meredith's crossing was the thing that sometimes let him down

 

Yet despite all their injuries they’re still finding ways to win. Compare that to our relatively full squad and we struggle at Swindon, Newport and Walsall away, Gillingham and Hartlepool at home.

 

That means Smallwood on the left of a diamond though and I thought his performances there were largely horrific.

You have to ask the question what Hughes sees in the kid he once again showed little but lets not dwell on the kid he's still a young lad learning his trade, but he cant start again this season surely ???

 

Well that was a fantastic end to the game and great scenes in that away end. I'm glad we wiped the smile off their faces, especially in those circumstances because their fans outside the ground were thinking it was a formality today.

We were better first half, they were better second. They pushed us back and kept the pressure on but only created one clear cut chance outside the goal from my memory whereas we had the two goals and Cook's sitter first half. Draw would've been fair.

Win at Crewe and who knows what sort of nonsense can happen on the final day. We'd need the stars to align for us but you never know.
