At different times I’ve stood in Midland Road, then moved to TL Dallas, then to E&F in Main stand. All of which were family stand. I think it outgrew E&F so got A&B in the Midland Road as well before it all stopped. Only difference seemed to be with E&F was that it was no smoking.

I appreciate exactly what you're saying, Rod. I went through this with my Daughter in our PL days, and my Grandson is fast approaching a similar 'phase'. Both his mum, and also my wife are concerned about him going 'solo' in a strange part of the ground. However, we are fortunate enough to know that he wants to be 'where it's at' ...... close to the chanters !! And this has worked quite well, as two family members in a group of four adults, sit in the lower KOP, with said grandson never seated out of sight, and generally within ten seats, or so.

It works nicely on a Saturday, and thankfully it's not an issue for midweek games, as he attends Rugby training on a Tuesday evening, which is generally the night City play.
But yes, a 'generational' area for decent young 'adults' should, or could be considered.

The clubs all for singing sections great. Win some games the stadium will rock.

Haven’t the K Block been contacting the club for about a season requesting to go where you’ve put the family section? Seems to have fallen on deaf ears from what I’ve seen and heard. In fact I’d say they’ve been ignored and got nothing but silence from the club and supporters board on this matter - see Twitter. Surely would have been better off sticking the singers in NWC and keeping the family stand Midland Road? Both win then, instead the singers are stuck up the top of the Kop unseen and out of the way.

How can they keep the family stand in the Midland Road when it isn't currently there? The NWC has probably been picked as it is the easiest to move people out of as every other area will have people that have been sat there for decades and will complain if moved.

The acoustics under the roof of the Kop is much better than the sound it would generate out in the NW corner. I sit in the upper Kop and I’ve not requested to go sit elsewhere?

Don’t understand why we’d want to move and lose some noise, just “to be seen”

More likely to be more controlled in NWC as well as others close by may complain about noise, language etc

Maybe not officially but every man and his dog knows families go in there predominately, don’t be so pedantic

Lose what noise it’s been tragic for a long time now, nothing like the atmosphere created away when the lads are pitch side. Think the idea is to come closer to the pitch to get the lower Kop and Sunwin involved instead of been in the heavens. Check @BCAFCBH on Twitter..

Disagree Andy. When the stadium has over 18k in it and are cheering on a successful side, it is very loud. It can be heard down in the centre of town. I’ve been to stadia where we are close to the pitch, but it doesn’t mean the volume travels any more.

Players often comment that they can hear us when we are cheering the boys on. Sadly, over the last 18mths we’ve had very little to cheer. I certainly wouldn’t be happy if the K-Block Bantams moved to the lower NW corner

Most families that I know sit downstairs in the kop or in the NWC. I don’t know any in the Midland Road as those that did moved due to the sun getting in the kids faces.

I’ve looked up the twitter page and it looks like a congregation of pre-pubescent chavs to me. That’s not an official singing section.

In fact, the images on there are quite cringeworthy and reiterate the need to have a better, proper singing/chanting section.

We bought our first season tickets in the family stand in A block of the Midland Road in 1996. We are still there now and the youngest in our party is now 30 years old. The family aspect sort of disappeared a while back as several adults unaccompanied by children have bought season tickets there in recent years. Still, I will probably be bringing my grandson when he is old enough.

A lot of clubs family stands are for families only, A block had that rule to begin with which would mean once your child is over the stipulated age you would have to move elsewhere

I am aware of that, but at some point A block in Midland Road must have stopped being a designated family stand but nobody has ever informed us when it happened or the family status was just forgotten about.
