At least they're giving people the chance to move for free, but surely this could have been announced at the same time as season tickets went on sale, can't be that long a process to decide "yeah use that one for it"

Hi Stevay, you're spot on. If the timing had fallen differently we would have done this ahead of marketing season tickets.

The EFL Fan Excellence Survey's don't get published until March.

I and Isobel Pitts met with the EFL and other clubs to review the findings in late March and then discussed the matter at the next supporter's board meeting in April to get supporter group feedback.

It was felt that taking action now was better than holding off for another year because of the benefits.

Could they have not just gone in the TL Dallas, seems a more practical idea. I moved out of the NWC last month due to being constantly surrounded by freebies with no interest in the footy or watching their kids.
A few hundred in the dallas every week stops that end looking completely pointless, gives an impression of home fans behind both ends, and would have prevented the faff of those who bought early for the NWC now having to find seating now most of the best available seats at renewal time have been cherry picked. Poor do for them

What about a happy clappy stand, or would it just be one block?

    Hi,

We can’t use the TL Dallas stand because EFL rules stipulate that 10% of the capacity has to be allocated to away fans. So they have TL Dallas if needed and the blocks in Midland Road. I know this is daft given we’re in division 2.

The BCFC Community Foundation give out discounted tickets to primary schools to encourage the fans of tomorrow and build the profile of the club on the local area.

The run pre school and after school clubs and Help over 100 schools each year helping 20,000 kids.

A supporters board member confirmed that she started following City after coming to a game following a school initiative.

These are slow burn programmes that are vital to the long term future of the club

    Hi Glenn,

Has there been any discussion about bringing in an official singing section, promoted and encouraged by the club etc?

Many other clubs are introducing it now to increase the atmosphere and allow those wanting to make noise throughout the game to congregate together. This certainly appeals to many of the younger generations and would get more people interested in attending, especially in the lower leagues.

    Examples:

    Reading - https://the72.co.uk/100189/take-bow-reading-fans-react-new-singing-section-south-stand/

    Huddersfield - https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-fans-new-singing-8101678

I personally think Family stands work well in the lower leagues when you have spare capacity in the ground. If the rest of the ground is full where do the families move to when their kids grow up?

    Hi Ronnie,

The entrance to the lower block of the Family Stand has a large allocation of spaces for wheelchair users and this provision will remain in place.

In reality, the composition of the stand will not be markedly changed. It's previously being used as a 'Community Stand' for schools kids and the ticket office have encouraged those enquiring about the most suitable family area to locate there.

I know that the Bradford City FC Disability Team has lots of families who attend and they already all sit in the lower block.

So there will not much difference in terms of people taking up seats in this area, it's just that it's clearly marked for new and existing fans.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi BantamLad,

    I'm all for 'Singing Sections'

I know that we have the drum and K-Block Bantams but if we can do anything to improve the atmosphere, I'm all for it.

This topic best placed in the hands of the Supporters Board because they have lots of supporter groups with a range of ideas.

They're meeting on the 3rd June, so I'll ask Adam Baker (Chairperson) to add it to the agenda.

    Many thanks,

    Glenn

Back in the mid 1990’s when the Midland Road first opened we went in what was then the ‘designated Family Section’ in A Block. We then transferred to F Block in the Main Stand which was again a ‘designated family section’.

Somewhere following the two administrations the Family Sections seemed to disappear.

I agree with you, what plan should be put in place, if your kids ‘outgrow’ the family section?

Not really a problem at the moment, but something which needs to be thought through and plans identified.

Ahhh, so it hasn't changed. Many thanks for that.
I will pass this on to my Mothers neighbour, who was a little concerned, and we occasionally go together.
