A fuss over nothing. Best atmosphere at Valley Parade for many a year, give me the above over the shite i'm having to endure this season.

 

Know we know why there was such a big police presence at our recent game at Grimsby.

I think they do it to make themselves feel like they've achieved something when the team they support achieves something, but its not their team. And the old " My Dad supported them" means your Dad is one too that's all.

 

Was there that day, not sure I recall it really detailed anymore but not totally sure that’s how it unfolded. It was carnage after the game though. Tbh though, part of me thought it was maybe a good thing some City fans went on the pitch, it’s not as if the police appeared to do fook all initially. I wonder if the Hull fans would have tried to get into their home terrace if they’d not been confronted? I’m not condoning anything, just a way I look at it years later. the ones that ran towards the City end, ended up back in the supermarket end, anyway.

Can’t stand Town or Leeds put god I love to play them and be in the same division, I’d go as far to say if we were in a league above them I’d want them to get promoted to play them.

Maybe, can’t remember tbh. I recall rumours of other hooligans there not just Hull’s and City’s. I just remember it seeming like the most ill conceived idea ever giving us their home end, and shock horror it kicked off. I have this memory of there being no sign of police and you just knowing something would happen. Has to go down as one of the ‘great decisions’, not surprised it gave some Hull fans an excuse to have a go. There was obviously a fair number of City fans happy to get involved, as I say, better it happened in the 18 yrd box rather than in the terrace.

 

The only reason we were given their home end was their greedy chairman. He knew we would bring 5K which we did but the away end wouldn't accommodate that many. Hull were going down so he cashed in.

Leeds haven't been relevant in world football for close to 20 years now. You cant deny their history but it's exactly that, history. Moronic fans are moronic fans no matter the team in question.

 

Our lot did it at Grimsby. Leeds have a lot more support than we do.

I remember a cartoon by Giles showing an English family in a cafe in France, with the father dressed up in stereotypical French fashion -- beret, hooped shirt, string of garlic over his shoulder -- and the son telling the waiter that his father's only dressed up like that so that people wouldn't think they came from Leeds.
