Think A OC may be asked to cover right back - alternatives are Hosannah (if he ever turns out for us again) or French. Personally think AOC has been our best CB over the last 2 years

Very happy with this. Will be excellent at League 2 level and he's a boyhood city fan so no question about desire etc.

I was born in Leeds, live in Huddersfield, my heart has always been in BD8.
Canavan on face value appears to be the same, as long as players give their all, I don’t care which postcode they were born in.......
Mr Bradford himself, the ginger god with an iPad was born & bread in L**ds. Are you after a Bradford style master race?AJP, vladimir, Idlebantam and 1 other person like this. -

Didn't realise he was a city fan.
Signing players from higher divisions and paying a fee to get them is generally a good sign. Pretty happy with that,1975citygent, Bronco and borderlescott like this. -
If you have a good signing, League Two will suit him.
He's been in and out of the Argyle team, young loanees from PL teams have been preferred but many Argyle fans rate him as our best defender this season.
He's probably moved up north to be closer to family.
He's a leader and for a big centre-back is comfortable on the ball.
The downside is he has no pace and is slow on the turn and will struggle against pacy strikers.
Does this mean Derek Adams is about to be named as your new manager?
Canavan was a favourite of his and he signed himDamo, Johnny Yen and borderlescott like this. -
Don't know a lot about Canavan but does look a good signing. What does this mean for our current CB partnership who have done nothing wrong since Trueman & Sellars came in? Does AOC get pushed out to RB? -

Sounds like a leader who can do the basics well and is also fairly comfortable on the ball. An upgrade on BRE so decent enough it seems.

By all accounts Plymouth are gutted to loose him, both manager and fans, he was wanted to be closer to his family and wanted a longer contract, happy days we have got this deal done, well done Lee turnbull

Staunton to come back on the left side and AOC to go at the end of the season.
Seeing as he has spent a few years at scunny and look where they are now, i dont know if it is an endorsement or not.

"However, he's respected and hasn't left under a cloud, every comment wished him well, and understood he wanted to be up north with his family."
In my view and City's by the sounds of it he's here for all the right reasons.
Bet his family are over the moon, brilliant.
Mr Turnbull you've done your homework on this signing that's for sure.
