A manager with a defined style of play and reputation for attacking football who is yet to fail and already has one promotion on his CV. This will be another one we miss out on whilst playing it safe with another appointment from the roundabout. Ian Evatt was the last one in these circumstances we didn't look at and look how that panned out.

he definitely is not a fraud he is probably one of the most genuine people around probably to much for his own good. No way would I want him back as manager though. He has had three goes at it. But his managerial skills are a long way short of his playing ability

 

Wankleman is a complete hypocrite……No longer a pot to pee in and the club survives on loans allegedly.

 

I believe he's refused severance pay from the club also.

The Parky talk is slightly worrying or just Twitter talk… I’m not convinced either way.

I am not sure Mr Rupp would have Parky back after his exit last time. A change of ownership with an injection of money then it might be different

 

I’m just not convinced Park, his legacy is just that, a legacy. It would take some doing to even come close again, therefore the odds don’t look too good. Personally I believe it’s a pipe dream, because he won’t be fishing in the same dollar salary pond he’s got used to for his recruitments. Nah!

 

Hughes' issue wasn't the idea of possession football, it was that he couldn't coach a product at the end of it.

We need to get away from the idea that possession football is bad just because it didn't work under Hughes.

 

You are right in one sense but L2 players cannot possibly have the technical ability to play it. If they had they wouldn’t be in the L2 player pool. That’s what MH absolutely failed to recognise…sadly.

 

I think the type of football that McDonald has got us playing should now influence our choice of next manager. High press, not playing out from the back (unless the opportunity is there) and generally front foot football with high tempo/workrate, the squad of players seem to like it, the supporters seem to buy into it and it looks like it could be successful.

 

I want effective football whatever style that is whilst there are obviously exceptions I think at this level a more direct style is better

 

It makes no sense for him either, he's in a job where there is some potential and he is well backed.

We'd be a big gamble for him and, he's already done the job that's needed here before (dug the clueless people running the club out of a hole), he'd be risking his legacy if he couldn't pull it off again.

 

Fair comment @Faithful Bantam, I can't see it but I'd welcome it, even thought history shows not many go back and attain further success.

 

Not him, arrogant, and didn’t connect with the fans. Kept banging on about him being a Championship Manager. Thought he was employed in India?

 

His career has spiralled very quickly.
