I think these days it's upto the prospective Manager to show the club that he/she understands the squad.
That'll be part of what they present to the club. A plan to turn it around.
With the transfer windows as they are, club's cannot afford to wait 12 months for a Manager to have his own players in place.

 

I think he rushed into at the time and yes soon realised he was not the right man for the club. Which takes some balls so soon into a new job but silly

First and foremost is a manager must play winning football. I leave the formation and tactics to the professionals. 2-3-5. 4-4-2 or 3-2-2-1-2, it matters not. Putting the ball in the opposition net and keeping it out of your own are the essentials.

Do that and the supporters will be happy. Play a boring brand of football and stop winning and the supporters will turn. Gillingham won their first four matches this season 1-0; dull but successful and that was fine. Take seven points from the next seven matches while continuing to play unattractive football and score less than a goal a game and you're out of a job.

I think this is why we might see McD move to an assistant role, or at least have some influx with view to becoming a staff member in the future.. Or more likely, unfortunately, Trueman remains and becomes assistant. Nothing against the guy, and it was inspiring when him and Sellars went on that run, but he’s also been part of the problem for too long and I think there needs to be a total clear out (ideally from the top down) to stop this familiarity of failure.

Sheff Weds owner is rumoured to have Steve Evans as his first choice for the job. Warnock has put into the media that he is interested too, the fans was Carvahal to return.

 

Any perspective manager who doesn't do their homework on our club would be described has a lunatic.

 

He'd be a terrible and inexplicable choice.

 

If ever there was a must to avoid job it is Sheffield Wednesday Manager right now,

Mind Neil Warnock would be a very interesting appointment and if anyone can rescue The Owls this season it would be that Blade.

 

Thoughts on Lee Bowyer? I know he’s ex Beeston which may be an issue but think he did a decent job at both Charlton and Birmingham in awful circumstances
