No centre back would be in the middle of the goal for a free kick from that angle, the danger is players like Stubbs and Platt at the back post. The only person to blame for that goal is their keeper for coming out when he had no need to.

The BBC stats say that both sides had 5 shots on target.

Wrong. It's more likely to be full backs on the goal line with central defenders in the middle. Why would any positionally aware CB stand on the goal line for a free kick 30 yards out.

This can't possibly be accurate cos nobody deserved a perfect 10!!!

    1. Andy Cook (Bradford) - 10.0 rating
With a perfect WhoScored.com 10 rating, Bradford's Andy Cook is the League Two player of the week. The 32-year-old finally got off the mark this season as the Bantams smashed Newport at Rodney Parade. Cook bagged a hat-trick from his six shots, all the while giving the Newport defence a torrid 90 minutes as he won 11 aerial duels in Bradford's 4-1 win.

You're probably both wrong. AOC will have an assigned man and will be pretty much picking him up wherever he's standing.

I thought he marshalled their defence well and yes, he will be disappointed with the goal conceded.

He's a player that too many fans at this club have a problem with, mainly because he can't be forgiven for his part in our relegation and that infamous armband incident.

I remember when Exeter game to our place in 2019/20, he gave the best L2 CB display, I've ever seen. And this against a team that have given the two best performances I've seen since we got relegated (the game that got Adams sacked in 2022 was the other). No idea how we beat them 2-0 that day.

And he constantly bailed out the other O'Conner, which ironically so did Songo'o (be good if I realised what team he now plays for.LOL) - but because he didn't beat his chest and roar to the fans enough, he got more abuse.

Very good CB at L2 level. Him and the likes of Stubbs actually know how to manage a defence - which is vital at this level.

O'Brien was easily our best player that season. Unconvinced that O'Conner was a bad as you clearly imply.

Played a significant part in the Morecambe team that bet the odds and survived in L1. But of course that means he must be a terrible CB, because, well er, you say so.

He wasn't as good as Paudie, that's for sure, but he was a consistent 6.5 out of 10.

Think we've got better centre backs in the building now, though, particularly Stubbs.

You could probably swap Platt out for AOC and it wouldn't make much difference. About the same.

Explain the difference from me describing him as "useful" and you "not writing him off".

I've got the beer and popcorn ready.

Where did I say terrible? You've embarrassed yourself and now you're trying to spin it.

One season he was here we finished bottom of the division and conceded the 3rd highest amount of goals (77). They ALL must have had at least the odd bad game!

He had an absolute shocker, looked like he'd never played football before and should have been hooked at half time.

My view - let's not write the lad off.

Your view - he looked useful.

Enjoy your popcorn but put down the beer m8. You clearly drink far too much before posting.

I've no idea, much preferred the Dandy myself. Desperate Dan and Korky the cat were different gravy.
Anyway enjoy that big slice of humble pie, you might like it! :kissing_heart:

Just like to air beauties like this one now and again.

It gives me a genuine sense of superiority and keeps those pesky happy clappers like my friends @banbrotam@banbrotam in their place!

But they ARE useful. Who do you think takes the cones in at the end of traning?
