With all their money Newcastle will take some turning around, as Sheikh Mansour found out at Manchester City, a season on season improvement will be great for the Geordies.

I’d be happy to be operating at the top end of the Championship, maybe a yo-yo club like Norwich or Watford and with an owner like Ashley we’d definitely get that. -

What’s the general thoughts on this? All the media seem hell bent on ramming down our necks it’s gonna ruin the game how a state can finance a team etc but it’s so far beyond that now anywya. Why does it matter?
you could probably make an argument for all owners of the top 4 clubs having some dodgy connections in the premier league and their morals are not always squeaky clean.
would you disown city if they took over us? -
With the outrage about signing players, and players we have been linked to surely it would cause issues for a number of people.
Think out of all the owners they are the most suspect so far. Most recent judgement against them about hacking ex wife and her legal teams firm regarding a custody hearing and obviously the kidnapping and detainment of his own daughters and that is before you even touch the death of the journalist at the consulate in Turkey. -

We have had players who were alleged drug dealers, sex offenders and drive by shooters so why not owners?

It’s always the same when takeovers happen.
Lots of “faux” outrage by other teams supporters about dodgy dealings and suspect backgrounds of the new owners.
If you look deep enough virtually every football club owner will have some skeletons in the closet.
Look at the recent Pandora papers.
The headlines were pretty much “rich people and royalty do a few dodgy deals”
No shit Sherlock.
But you can pretty much guarantee that it’s mostly based on jealousy.
I’m fairly sure the Newcastle fans will soon forget Saudi Arabia’s horrendous human rights issues and all the other horrible things they are suspected of doing when they start spending millions on players.
The UAE where Sheik mansour who owns Man City comes from have awful human rights issues as well but soon forgotten when the local community benefit from their significant charitable donations.
All the flak thrown at Newcastle still won’t dilute the amount of hate that some football fans have for Man City,PSG etc…… who have been seen to accept the vast amount of money that some countries with abysmal human rights have
Not saying it’s right or wrong but it’s the way of football unfortunately. -

Just look at the way they are with their managers, they start booing them from game 1. They even turned on Keegan pretty quickly in his second spell despite him previously being a hero to them. Or Pardew who got them up to 5th and not once did they stop looking for a chance to boo him. And the same with Sam Allardyce, he may not be a top-level coach but he would have most likely made them a solid top 10 club and gave them a decent base to build on. Mind you Shearer could have got them relegated to the National League North and they would still support him.
I personally get the feeling you lot aren't as delusional as Newcastle fans. If you were bottom half premier league most seasons you would be happy with that.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
