What do you mean we do F all? What exactly do you expect the fans to do. At the end of the day we just follow the club, we can't make someone buy us. Getting an owner that genuinely cares about the club is a complete luck of the draw.

I agree, Newcastle protested for 12 years and I doubt the new owners bought the club because of it to ‘save them’. Fans can put pressure on to let the powers that be know they feel the club isn’t being run properly, but ownership won’t change hands even if anything happens.

Not going down is a start. Wonder if Ashley fancies a punt on a league two project ?

If it shuts the smug Mancs up then I’m all for it.
Can’t stand United and City have completely lost their identity.

For all their moaning they still turned up week in week out. At times they were short of capacity but still in the high 40s in terms of crowd numbers. You could call that loyalty or stupidity depending on your view point. If the owners are as ambitious as they say then there is no reason they can't be pushing the top 6, but it will take years to implement strategies and facilities that the top four or five have.

He took over a club who are historically in the top ten in England in terms of success, have spent most of their history in the top flight (including the 15 years before he took over where they had been occasional title challengers) and have a massive fan base.

I'm not sure he can really be given much credit for how Newcastle are now under his ownership, his approach doesn't actually seem any different to ours - just at a different level.

Course they won't. All they want is to win something, anything. Bruce will be gone by Xmas and someone like Mancini or similar will be in.

And if they don't make the CL places, they'll be on to Boris to fix it.

So the Premier League will now put Saudi Arabia against Abu Dhabi with two sides from America vying for top spot.

    Tragic!

Nothing new though is it, back in 17/18 at the end of the season, 62% of the PL and Championship clubs had solely foreign investment/ownership. Since then, it's only gone one way. Not many clubs are English owned (at least fully) anymore, just due to the Premier League being a far more profitable business, than a club being run solely a football club.

    PL ownership/Investment by nationality:
    Arsenal - American
    A Villa - American/Egpytian
    Brentford - English
Brighton - English has 75% share, rest is American
    Burnley - American
    Chelsea - Russian
C Palace - English 64% two Americans share the rest
Everton - Iranian owns 77% rest English
Leeds - Italian 63% rest is American
    Leicester - Thai
    Liverpool - American
    Man City - Arabian
    Man United - American
    Newcastle - Saudi
Norwich - 53% Welsh, two English share the rest
    Southampton - Chinese 80%, Swiss 20%
    Tottenham - English
    Watford - Italian
    West Ham - Welsh 51%, English 35%, American 14%
    Wolves - Chinese

The difference being that Ashley had direct input into the club and had qualified business people in key positions. Rupp had charlatans and novices. Only now is the club trying to address the key roles needed to run a business and a football team.

Where are you getting the historically in the top 10? In the 74 years post WWII they were in the top10 of the top flight just 19 times. And a large percentage of those came during the period Hall was throwing silly money at the club and when Ashley tool over the club was in a pretty bad financial state. They spent nearly as many season (18) in the second tier. They are a team who have largely been bottom half, trying to battle against going down and then eventually dropping out and having to rebuild
