I am chilling out at Headingley today quite happy with this signing
Marching on together.

 

Needed some height for years sounds promising

 

A good prospect but we desperately need a proven central defender, e.g someone who we can be 85% certain will do the job and be a good player in that division. Our last time out in league two we signed McArdle and Davies, we knew Davies from being on loan with us but I remember being reasonably sure that McArdle would be a good signing. Hopefully we can get rid of O'Connor and bring in a center back that we know we can depend on. A Richards-Everton & French defensive combo could turn out to be decent at league two level, but it could also turn out to be one of the worst defenses in the league, too many unknowns about them to say.

 

I agree with caution but look at all the so called established poo we signed last year and its still sticking to me blanket . Deffo worth a gamble

 

The levels are a bit skewed below National league as they're regional. I watched a few games in that league last year and it's not that bigger jump skill wise, but fitness isn't the greatest as most are part timers.

 

I remember when we signed Scott Neilson, who had had trials at various league clubs and was a 'real prospect'.

 

There’s an assistant managers job if he fancies it.

 

Seems I am not alone in thinking that French could well be the surprise package this season

Unknown quantity, not picked up by any of the other trial clubs. Lets hope this is Bowyer’s choice and his judgement proves well placed. Best of luck to him.

Things I picked out of the report is that he can pick a long pass out. Are we getting a target man?
Also, it seems to be a good set up at Sudbury. This is their first graduate to professional football. Could forge a relationship for others.

 

Just looked at is you tube showreel. V busy and loves a long ball out of defence too. I am happy

 

Seems to have a good attitude, hope he does well, and good luck to the lad

 

Dont think old steve Williams was ever really that bad once he adjusted to the step up. Decent feet and good in the air. If memory serves me right youve got to take into context the squad in his day which was probably worse than we have now.

 

Looks like the majority are pleased with this signing, think it's a great opportunity for GB to bring in this type of player and develop them into players that he likes.

Never heard of him before so will wait and see what he brings. Seems to get good reviews and is highly thought of at Non league level.

 

I agree I don't necessarily see him as a project, if he shows enough in pre season he and Richards-Everton have little competition so unless we make better signing they could both be starters for me.

 

I think you've misunderstood my point I was trying to make which was that signing players on a freebie can sometimes cost more than paying an actual transfer fee so we shouldn't get too excited about us paying a transfer fee

 

How we getting on? Ballance has got us out of some holes this year and won us some matches. If only we could bat well in the first innings of games
