Nope(unsurprisingly). Heritage pub trail (I am sure @StaffordBantam@StaffordBantam could add to this!;)). All in easy walking distance of the station. So Scarborough Hotel - The Adelphi (which @ahar964@ahar964 may well have been on about)-Garden Gate-Whitelocks+ a trip to the Royal Armouries (we could do with some mounted Mongolian Archers down the wings at VP, very fast and accurate).

Lovely turn of phrase! It is a handy place to meet up, if you are using the station. More awkward to get to and very much a bar, but this is a good alternative. https://www.ossett-brewery.co.uk/pubs/hop-leeds

That's brought back memories of a great pint of Youngers number 3 at Whitelocks fifty years ago. We never visit Leeds on our trips back to Yorkshire these days.

No the one I was thinking of was the Kings Arms on Stocks Hill. Apparently it closed in 2008!

I think one of the last times I had No3 was in the Guilford Arms on the corner of Register Street. ;)

Drove past VP today behind the Bradford End and couldn’t see any evidence of building work.
I thought this was supposed to open in August?

Well the artists impression in the article from the OP suggests there will be a new complex.

Well they have looked at ‘pedestrianising’ some streets. The section between the bottom of Hollywell ash Lane and Thoncliffe Road could/should be closed between 1.00pm and 5.30pm/6.30pm and 10.30pm. It isn’t rocket science.

Midland Road could have boxes located at the bottom of the roads, to make it easier to close off on match days.

That’s exactly what I had in mind....easy to police , in fact a couple of security staff/stewards would be cheaper.

The club looked into this a few years ago when Baldwin and Dowse were still here. It would have required a Road Closure Notice on Midland Road to be applied for for every home game. I can't recall the precise numbers involved but it required a lengthy legal, traffic monitoring and consultative process costing several thousand £'s on each occasion. As much as it sounds like a great idea, it isn't just as simple as putting up a few barriers and employing a few stewards to police it.
