What is the definition of the fan zone and its purpose?

Other fan zones, generally involves some form of entertainment be that music, some stuff for kids, occasional visit by an ex player however they are mostly attended by groups of folk meeting over a beer or two pre match.

How does that sit with the building likely to be owned by a religious community that forbids alcohol? I'm not saying people cannot manage to attend without having a drink, however I've a feeling that may impact the number of visitors on a matchday

 

Not all 25 years season ticket holder use the Sunwin, I'd say the vast majority of fans who use the suites are not 25 years.
When times were better the 2012/13 suite was used for hospitality before and after the game, and we had to mix with the table in the McCall/Hendrie Suites .

Probably because the numbers allowed into the suite area would be restricted. I think it is almost sold out currently so not sure what the benefit would be? The club would lose the income from the suite memberships and would the income from bars be any more than currently?

On the 25yr side they do not get it free, that is what is paid for and the ticket free, or at least that is how it showed on the receipt last time I bothered looking.

 

Who drives into Bradford these days? Apart from coming to VP I have very little reason to go anywhere near the city centre.

 

Until last August I worked as a part time lecturer at Bradford Uni, so I used to drive into Bradford a couple of times per week.
When Pictureville and Cubby Broccoli cinemas open up again at the National Museum I expect to go there quite often. And maybe the odd city centre curry with my ex colleagues.

 

Most of the pubs round here have converted their car parks into out door drinking, some are really good, outside bar, a huge piece of artificial grass to make a it look a bit better, cushions on the seats, tables, semi permanent roof thing, patio heaters the lot. The other pubs have the seats from inside dragged out the back, a £12.99 Aldi gazebo and a brazier burning old pallets.
I have a feeling which one City will be.

Would a licensed premises be off putting considering they could just order soft drinks or does the religious aspect forbid then to enter premises that serve alcohol?

I'm just wondering if it could be an inclusive venue that tries to cater to all.

 

It's a few years ago but the last time I was in Akbar's up Leeds Road they served bottled beer, yet Mumtaz doesn't.

 

I don't have an answer, but I do know that it could possibly be a problem to some. We have a diverse set of communities in Bradford, some of whom may feel affected by things others just take for granted.

 

They need to sort safety and security on Midland Road before this is frequented by City supporters in my view. Manningham is not safe to park your car or walk around these days. My kids won't go near the place until that is sorted. Why did they stop opening the OIAM cafe? That was great.

 

You can go down as often as you like from what I can see. How does that make it a smoke screen exactly?

if you want an example of how a fan zone should work go to Northampton saints ru. superb set up, all outdoors, real ale bars, guinness tent, bottle bars, loads of different street food and very well used. the snag is you have to enter the ground and walk through the stands to get to it.

our perfect site would be the car parks between the kop and the school.
