And most of the good ones have been relatively experienced players rather than rookies.

Reece Burke, Lewis O'Brien, Josh Cullen, Adam Reach, Lee Evans, Jordan Pickford all came to us with hardly any first team experience yet all stood out like sore thumbs, watching them you knew they were all destined to play at a higher level. Apart from O'Brien all first came to us under Parky, we seemed to bring some very good young loan talent to us under his tenure.

That’s the thing we thought when Hughes came.
He’s played for the biggest club in the country and managed other massive Premiership clubs.
I think most thought he may still have some contacts that would enable us to get a bit of their young talent.
So far, apart from Banks and Wright the rest of the Prem loans we’ve had have been mostly underwhelming.

    Compare your list with Oyegoke,Nevers,Costelloe,Afoka.
Chalk and cheese doesn’t do it justice.

Maybe the bigger clubs don’t want their young talent being stifled by such a negative manager.

Possibly Hughes has never been in the position where he has had to rely.on loan players before like we do in the lower leagues. A lot different with the premiership budgets he was used to as a manager.

I'll give you most of those but Evans had played 85 games, 60 for Wolves.

You're right. Parky used loans to prop up the squad, and he did it well. but he had the benefit of emergency loans. They were still available until something like 2015.

To be fair, though, that's a list of players picked across 4-5 years.

The list of Oyegoke, Nevers, Costelloe and Afoka aren't any worse than Matthew Penney, Kevin Toner, and Haris Vuckic who all came in during a single season.

We definitely used to use the loan market a lot more like Swindon Town do, though, with players like Stephen Warnock, Alex Gilliead, and Marc McNulty all much more experienced first team players than those aforementioned lads.
