In the immediate term we can make some very do-able but profound changes:
Sign a forward, midfielder and left back on loan.
Bring in a manager and give him control of first team affairs.
Recruit a fitness coach.
Have Rahic take a back seat.

It won't take us where we need long term but it'd be a step forward and give us some stability on the pitch

 

They all do. Almost as if we don't have a fitness coach and they've not had many pre season minutes isn't it?

Its like we’ve been discussing, taking money from parts of the club to fund others means less depth of squad and a low quality of backroom staff and it shows. Honestly i cant believe people can’t see the ensuing problems facing us.

 

I really think this week could be pivotal in terms of how the rest of the season pans out. Make the changes you suggest and we should be okay, do nothing and it doesn't bear thinking about.

 

Fitness was a problem last season as well it seems to have a low priority. I was told the other night that the German fitness coach only came in for a month as a favour to Edin. Apparently there is another on the horizon but we need to do better . Allamby was a major part of Parky’s management team we need somebody of his calibre now to get it right

No offence..........and with 3 family members as physios/trainers........I think that is to be discarded as bollocks along with the coach being called "Mikey" (as if it matters) and him standing with his arms crossed assessing, rather than shouting, most players hate being shouted at.

I've no axe to grind, saw it coming, didn't buy an ST for the first time since late 80's, it's a shit squad assembled for a guy who (through no fault of his own) is a few years from being ready for this situation. It's going to get worse, that's certain and I don't think a change of coach is going to make any significant difference.,,,,,,,,,see SmC/Grayson.

Agree. I wanted saturday to be a step on from Burton but in all honesty we played better against Sheff Utd pre season.
Like you said MC needed to be absolutely bollocking the team for the shite they were producing, instead he just stood there impassively.
We are now on a 41 game season with 123 points still to play for.
What happens this week will ultimately determine how many of those we end up with.

 

Mellor was in the PFA league two team of the season 16/17. Ok it's a league lower but it means he can play.

Under a proper manager he'd be fine.

 

Maybe they'll approach one of the management targets they had whose circumstances may have changed.

 

We haven’t had a super fit team since Allemby left in my view. We ought to be making it a priority, surely there is somebody out there as good as Allamby?

And a right back Riley gets beat too easy and seems he is the preferred RB over Mellor

 

We have plenty of experience to help the younger ones. In fact Colville and Gibson actually showed the experience professionals the way when they came on

 

Mellor looks very unfit to me
