It’s always the same with McCall, he needs an old head to help say the fans. The same was said when he had Jacobs as assistant, now it’s aired with Black as his assistant. In fact McCall is in his 50s himself but he is an emotional fairly average manager and another assistant won’t change him.

Was right then and right now, But Stuart is both Stubborn and Loyal so will never bring someone else in no matter how much sense it makes

Hypothetically speaking if McCall had been here a while and it still wasn't going to plan I'd love the club to make wholesale changes, starting with bringing in the Cowley brothers. They're clever and would suss out what was going wrong quite quickly. But I do hope McCall gets the job done and it goes well for him, he's Mr City for me.

Was Kenny Black not by his side for all his successes at Motherwell?

I'm not for McCall going, especially only 4 games in.

But as I've said multiple times... Why does it always feel like we have very little direction? The fans knew we were lacking firepower up top... How can the club be 4 games in and have no idea? Sometimes this board is ridiculous - but everyone could see the issue. The 'we have an ipad' answer doesn't cut it I'm afraid.

As has been the case for most of my lifetime, we're stuck with no momentum, and in the long-term somewhat more worrying, no forward-thinking plan.

So if you take on a squad and don't make any signings you get an unlimited free pass because they aren't "your players"?

You're cottoning on to the rules of the McCall game aren't you? :joy:

And if you come into a club where there's "only" ten or so contracted players you get an unlimited free pass because you were starting from scratch.

    Its genius!!

Disagree. He was brought in to galvanise the club after Bowyer failed to rouse any excitement. Stuart’s interview should be exactly what we want to hear - full of passion and to rouse the troops. But preferably not after a 0-5 defeat granted.

Not sure what you mean about the club having no idea about bringing in firepower. Did you not see that we’d actually had talks with 5 strikers?

Problem BL is he could have said 10, 15, 20 - makes no difference if we cannot attract one of them to join us!

I agree entirely mate. Connecticut Bantam suggested the Club had no idea we were lackIng firepower which is clearly incorrect, they know full well.

Unless someone actually signs for the club then it's just nonsense propaganda.

We've had since Christmas, when Vaughan first went on loan to source possible replacements incase he did leave permanently and the best we can come up with is a list of 4 names, one who was a former player and one who's perennially linked with the club?

Disregarding what we think of McCall didnt the club try the likes of Simon Grayson who could see right through the smoke and mirrors at the club and made his excuses and left, did we go for an experienced manager/coach, no we promoted a guy who had all on doing his job at youth level or whatever his position was before his promotion that was a disaster, we then give the reins to David Hopkin who finds out no matter what he did the players would/could not perform for him.
We now have a situation fans happy as Rahic finally being rumbled and out of our club, so we employ Gary Bowyer who had done well at Blackpool even with the constraints Oyston had at the club, good appointment at the time?.
I'm not big on club statements most times they don't achieve there goals but I suppose failure having a plan is better than failing and not having a plan.

That's why I started the 'prowess in the market', the club and Stuart McCall don't need to keep being told that the strikers are pap and that every fan recognises that we're short up front - it's a case of 'no sh!t, Sherlock', but there's a world of difference between saying "everyone can see the issue" and actually, you know, addressing that issue correctly.

Every music label in the world knows what they're looking for, that doesn't mean that talent either exists or is available - every management agency in the world can spot the talent that they want, it doesn't mean they're going to get them to sign with them in a competitive environment.

There's a reason we aren't getting what we need, and it's not about the club's profile, size, current and temporary perception, I really think it's a case of the club not knowing who they need to know - and it's been that way since Parky left.
