McCall shows far too much respect to the opposition every week. Post match comments from him indicate that he was scared of Harrogate. Embarrassing.

I suppose a question you've got to ask is whether Stuart would be a serious candidate for the managers job at any other L2 promotion hopeful.
The answer is no, which I think says a lot. How, Dratsab taf, brisbanebantams and 1 other person like this. -
It's weird. I thought Stuart did a good job in his 2nd stint and shouldn't have been sacked. But I worry about his fit for the role now.
I wouldnt sack him yet, but I worry about our performances so far.
That said, our failures go higher than the manager.
Either way, I love him as a bloke. Success with Stuart would be sweeter than any other manager. I just dont see it happeningStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Inspector, Bronco, Morley Bantam and 1 other person like this. -
I am not a knee jerk sort of person, so gave myself a few hours to digest last nights performance.
Too many players way off the pace last night, most had not played for 10 days, they should have been raring to go but were second best in all departments. The formation played by Stuart left us wide open down the flanks, the warning signs were there and the sky commentators mentioned it on several occasions, but he did nothing to counter this.
He needs to stop with this diamond rubbish and play to the players strengths. Wood and French were both totally over run and did not have an effect on the game at all as an attacking option . I thought Donaldson had a reasonable game and Cooke should have scored from his back heal the young lad should also have at least got his shot on target at the end.
Although a draw would have been harsh on Harrogate, who wanted it more than us and outplayed us in every department.Biker, Inspector, Meltham Massive and 1 other person like this. -
I think after two years of manager after manager there were three primary reasons/objectives for hiring Stuart: 1) Giving us a boost to try and reach the play offs, 2) He was an improvement on Gary Bowyer and 3) Stability.
Obviously the season's curtailment meant that we don't know if the first objective was going to be achieved - results were mixed but there was time left. I think we can safely say that objective 2 was achieved but the big one is number three. To be honest, I'm completely fed up with being the team to change managers every six months and its one of a few key reasons why we are where we are. The club haven't done much right in recent years but the contract they gave Stuart was smart - it's short term enough for timely evalutions of performance, but long term enough to provide the club with some stability. The added bonus for the board would be if Stuart could deliver the successful and entertaining brand of football he did in his second spell.
Last night was a huge kick in the teeth and an eye opener and Stuart takes the brunt of that because I thought his substitutions made it easier for Harrogate to win the game. But sacking him lands us in the same, ridiculous situation to what we put ourselves in by sacking Bowyer at the end of the January transfer window. We are going into a pretty hectic run of games, starting with a loss at winless Mansfield would ramp up the pressure. But for me, replacing the manager now would land us in much more s**t than sticking with him.Morley Bantam, Inspector, simons (woking bantam) and 1 other person like this. -

You can't have a manager that's not good enough just running the club. Where is that going to get us? Makes no sense!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Zubair, Craven Cottager, Andy10 and 1 other person like this. -

Have to raise it again though - what a massive disappointment that after all the time we took, the striker we brought in to improve our options was not even deemed viable to come of the bench and give us something a little different, let alone start the gamebrisbanebantams, Get Rid Of It, Rogered Tart and 1 other person like this. -

Ive said it before we urgently need a hard man in midfield, a leader. Stuarts biggest mistake is yet again signing poor players.
He has had his chances now and needs to do punditry or coaching , he is not up to recruiting or managing a team, out of his depth.Fools Gold, Dubois, Rcbantam and 1 other person like this. -
I never wanted him and he will go eventually for one reason only, He never learns from his mistakes and if you look over his time as a manager he has done the same tinkering of players and formations changing depending on the threat he sees from oppositions he worries about, It shows either stubbornness or that he does not really understand what he is doing, Here is a tip Stuart to avoid losing your job again, Pick a system you think suits the players you have and stick with it, Pick the best players in their natural positions within that system, Give them a chance to settle apart from injuries, After fitness drill the players playing practice games using the system day after day, It is the only way out from where you are otherwise I fear you will be back on the dole come Christmas

The way I see it is that this summer is the perfect chance for a clean slate. New CEO with the manager and most of the squad out of contract. Its the perfect time for a proper rebuild and cultural reset of this club from top to bottom.
This squad as it stands is not good enough individually or collectively to go up and I'd be surprised if any manager could manage it. So to sack McCall and hire another Grayson for example, would be a waste of money and fruitless exercise. So for me, yes we will be losing the interest of some supporters without a doubt and that is a massive problem, but I don't think a change in manager would make any difference whilst we have players who are simply not anywhere near good enough.Inspector, Morley Bantam, Bantam@{Lancs} and 1 other person like this. -

I don't want SM to be sacked, I just want him to get a settled team that works to our limited ability and makes us hard to beat. Right now we are the polar opposite to that.
