They are in for a shock? Losing Hedley back to HUDDERSFIELD and getting Foulds in return. Chalk and cheese?

As I said to Fordy a short while ago ….he won’t be the last. I can see another two or three….I’ll keep my powder dry!

I think Matty has reacted badly to City’s latest loan signing so Hughes has just shipped him out.

Pray tell. However there is an old saying , if one can’t stand the heat…….. Competition must be advantageous, if it isn’t then best move on.

Never got the love in for him. To me he’s always looked nervous as hell, weak, slow and incapable of passing. Feel he’s got a free pass as he’s a local lad.

That's three players from City, they've already got Rory and Antony O'Connor.

Foulds may be a bit unlucky here. A victim of the change that needs to happen if we are to push on. Facts are we need to create more down both sides. Neither starting full back convince on this front. Hopefully the new lad will offer more attacking threat, pace, power and crossing accuracy. Foulds still has something to offer but needs to add more forward positivity to his game. Turns inside laying off to the CH too often for me. Good luck to him. Hopefully he comes back as a better version of himself.

Truth be told, the only player that I don’t see being upgraded on, considering the league we’re in, is Lewis. Anyone else in the team is replaceable

From what i’ve heard, Bola is a very good LB. And if fit, is a massive upgrade on Foulds. Obviously, there’s a sticking point, that being his injury record. If bola gets injured an is out for 2-3 months, I don’t trust Ridehalgh to stay injury free for the time he has to provide cover

Wow, that's a ruthless decision from Hughes. I had assumed that Bola's arrival meant that we were looking to save on Ridehalgh's wages for the last 6 months of his deal or he'd had another injury setback nut obviously not. It looks entirely like he wasn't happy with our LB options and we've gone for an upgrade. Good luck to Matty for the rest of the season but I'm very happy that our management are being hard nosed and making decisions like this.

Must admit as much as the Bola coming in, then the Foulds exiting, have thrown me.

Foulds if unspectacular has been steady. He is young enough for a good coach/manager to develop.

Ridehalgh hasn’t played for several months and is coming up 32, and been out injured. So needs to get up to speed.

Bola has exceptionally few first team games and has been injured for most of his career.

Why we brought in Bola is questionable.

Why we didn’t send Ridehalgh out on loan defies logic.

Foulds has 18 months on his contract (given to him by Hughes). Ridehalgh has less than 6 months.

Matty Foulds got in team of the week https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/23054500.bradford-city-defender-gets-spot-league-two-team-week/

We did well with Jacob’s and Darby as ‘unspectacular’ left backs. Upgrading the failing mid field/secondary striker would have been a priority for me.

There's no way in this world that Foulds is better than Ridehalgh.

We've been fooled into thinking Foulds is a great LB because he had the very hard working Wright protecting him.

I'd think the decision is a brilliant one.

Foulds gets game time at a club of his ability and hopefully comes back wiser.

Meanwhile we keep the two better fullbacks, for the season objective; promotion.

To me its like a short cut across a frozen lake.

I worry that the ice will not be strong enough to get through to the destination.

Looks good on paper with Ridehalgh and Bola, so does the ice with the sun on it, it looks really nice, the distance is shorter……but…but..but
