Halliday is just as uncomfortable at going forward as Foulds is to be honest. He’s a full back from the Darby mould, rather than a Meredith/Uhlembeek mould

 

I fear we now have 2 full backs who can't defend their post

 

We were weak in a number of early games at the back post for sure. Better of late, although County had one chance on Tuesday.

 

Yes to be fair it was early in the season, that was as good as header off the line as any defender would have been proud of.

for me it was the pace at which this happened. Only a day or two before leaving he was first choice LB and had been most of the season. And regarding Bola...we might spend half a season bringing him up to speed and he will probably leave....or he might not be as good as people think he might. Lets face it he has hardly played league football.

Said he was having a good season but needed game time. ( he's made twenty one appearances}

 

That's how I read it. Foulds has never played a whole season and wants to do that this year. Either Foulds saw Ridehalgh coming back from injury and Bola bring brought in as a threat to his chances of doing that and asked for a move, or Hughes told him he couldn't guarantee him game time and suggested he go to Harrogate where he is more likely to start. I guess we will never know for sure, but Hughes is certainly pushing that it was all Foulds idea and he, being the kind and generous soul he is, allowed it to happen.

 

Yes, ie Bola but need to see more game time to be sure. I still firmly believe we won’t see MF again, it’s the latter ‘s circumstances, I am not sure about

 

He probably has been …. RT and MF took his ball home? Speculation on my part.

 

Looking at Harrogates line up they have Foulds playing on the left of a 5 in midfield.

So left wingback? Omg, certainly that means he will have to get up and down the flank

Whatever you think about the move, Foulds has been bang average recently. Hughes is clearly wanting an overlapping full back who can cross. Foulds was awful against Rochdale in that regard, all crosses overhit. As a collective we’ve been poor as a team recently, so for me it’s a well done to Hughes for shaking things up, it was badly needed.
