Matty Foulds to Harrogate on loan (with Poll)

I'll bet Simon Weaver couldn't believe his luck when Hughes said yes. Regular starter, fit, up to speed and a good defender. There won't be a team in league two who sign such a game ready full back this window.

My opinion is Harrogate have massively downgraded, the lad from Huddersfield was one of if not their best player of the same is said of Foulds they’ll go down. I doubt he’s feeling that lucky tbh.

 

Looking at Harrogates line up they have Foulds playing on the left of a 5 in midfield.

 

Game ready is one thing?

 

So left wingback? Omg, certainly that means he will have to get up and down the flank

Without doubt some will have us believe its all Foulds fault.

 

Whatever you think about the move, Foulds has been bang average recently. Hughes is clearly wanting an overlapping full back who can cross. Foulds was awful against Rochdale in that regard, all crosses overhit. As a collective we’ve been poor as a team recently, so for me it’s a well done to Hughes for shaking things up, it was badly needed.

 

Yet Smallwood's corner kicks and free kicks have been dire all season . So why's he still at the club?

 

He's evidently done well in training this week. Managed to get the hang of taking a throw in!

 

Had a shite debut apparently

 

4 players got hooked at HT,so sounds like he wasn’t the only one struggling.

 

Played the full 90 mins as well.

 

I know what you mean but I guess because he’s club captain and a senior figure.

 

Harrogate had a very poor first but better second half, but could not score. Foulds looked ok alongside another two new recruits (us next Saturday?).

But impressed with Mr Angol- looked a lot better and kept Sutton in it after coming on with 10 mins to go, dominated in the air and a loveley defensive header and "nearly" scored a worldie from 30 yards out. I really do think we should have given him more game time at VP.

 

Don't know if you were there but the Rochdale match wasn't ideal for pinpoint crossing - in the lower kop we noticed that flags were blowing in different directions

 

Bryan they wanted it more mate.

 

Rochdale seemed to manage and completely outplayed us in the second half in particular. I thought Foulds had his worst ever game for us that night.

 

A mate of mine (non-City fan) was at Harrogate on Sat so, without telling him anything on the player or the background behind the loan, asked him to give me his review of him……he said “was average, nothing notable……didn’t look particularly comfortable on the ball”. I guess that would concur with what Parky was seeing.

I liked Foulds myself. I hope he can nail down a spot somewhere and keep getting games under his belt, even if out of favour here.
