Seems a bit crazy to me seeing as the Injury record of the two possible replacements is woeful which would then mean having to play someone else out of position. Only positive thing is Harrogate aren’t really a threat to you so it’s not as crazy as sending a player to Barrow

I think Matty has reacted badly to City’s latest loan signing so Hughes has just shipped him out.

getting rid of Foulds feels like last season when we suddenly sold Canavan to Barrow

From what i’ve heard, Bola is a very good LB. And if fit, is a massive upgrade on Foulds. Obviously, there’s a sticking point, that being his injury record. If bola gets injured an is out for 2-3 months, I don’t trust Ridehalgh to stay injury free for the time he has to provide cover

We've been fooled into thinking Foulds is a great LB because he had the very hard working Wright protecting him. -
I'd think the decision is a brilliant one.
Foulds gets game time at a club of his ability and hopefully comes back wiser.
Meanwhile we keep the two better fullbacks, for the season objective; promotion. -

It has since Wright was moved when we went to diamond.
Everyone keeps blaming midfield but they have been isolated as we have a LB who isn't naturally comfortable playing as a wing back - an essential role for this system. Ridehalgh or Bola will be far better suited, with the latter apparently comfortable at LWB.
Add the fiesty Walker, instead of the weak minded Chapman and that middle area suddenly has more snap. -

If we’re going down the diamond route for the rest of the season, then we need our full backs to be on point. if we were playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, Foulds would probably keep his spot. But with a diamond, the emphasis for creativity primarily lies on the full backs, Halliday has improved in that regard recently, Although I always get the feeling there is an error in him defensively, Foulds has been poor for a month or so an doesn’t suit the formation.

As said before by someone, i also think Foulds is about at his ceiling. He turns 25 in 2 weeks, so he's at that point where he isn't a project anymore, he needs to be a packaged full back to offer something going forward and back as the full back role is now key for most sides. -

The diamond needs a more savvy full back. Unfortunately, they have to be good at full back, wing back and midfield.
If he has a good spell at Harrogate, it makes him more 'saleable' - although the reality is that he's probably leaving for free next January.
