    I agree. I'm surprised that ministers' offices aren't routinely checked for bugs, cameras etc because of security concerns. I don't think we've heard the last of this part of the videogate saga.

    you have missed the point, Covert recording of a minister of states private office is a serious breach of security and confidentiality,
    BTW They will never find the culprit as they probably already know and will just spread theories and confusion till the media move on

    It was reported as a "whistle blower" as you say I'd suggest its a little more serious than that but I don't think the individual will be named.

    There was no “covert” recording. It was pulled from the cctv in his office which he knew was there all along. He clearly forgot or didn’t think anyone would share it.

    it should not have been shared with the sun but has been done to get rid of him. It’s an issue which needs addressing but was never “covert”

    the recording of it from the internal CCTV was done covertly though.

    weird that so many ex ministers have said there are/weren’t any cameras there when they held office.

    The layout of the room shows the camera only focuses on the door, the rest of the room is private. That makes sense as it is there for security to see who has accessed the room.

    It was catch 22, he couldn't keep the door shut without being in view of the camera.

    not sure why the camera needed to be there at all, especially as other ministers are saying they are not aware of them in their offices. You could have the security camera on the other side of the door.

    And the camera has now been disabled according to Sky News

    one "Expert " looking at the quality claimed the video was recorded from the security TV monitor by a mobile phone and then sent to the Sun
