Walsall's latest accounts suggest that they pay a combined rent of £478,000 for their ground and training ground. I understand that the vast majority of that $400k +) relates to their stadium.

That doesn't look to be too different to City's stadium annual rent. They also have a break clause in their lease in around 8 years time, again similar to City.

I believe it is former Walsall FC owner, Jeff Bonser, who owns the stadium.

The 'new' (2019) owner of Walsall FC, Leigh Pomlett, does, however, have an option to purchase the stadium.

    Spot on.

Lawn was quick to sell the club to them two cowboys. I don’t think he’s in a position to have a go at anyone,

Honestly bantam talk isnt that much better, we were talking before on the adams out thread if I remember rightly. People saying he was aiming at rupp are just not true! None will care though.
Problem is in a pub you have 2 of those now you get a 1000 tom dick and harrys all egging each other on..

The true position of the Club is reflected in what Rupp has in mind. Since he deems to keep his own council we only get sound bites from Ryan. Stephan's is THE voice and It would be beneficial to hear things from his perspective directly.

It sounded very much like he was having a go at Rupp and the culture of the club. Lawn is saying "I THINK he was talking about the players". If he meant the players Adams, being Adams , would have specifically stated them. Sparks had to rush a statement out shortly after, to try and smooth the waters, but merely muddied them. Now we've got Lawn trying to toe the party line and saying what he "thinks" Adams meant. We haven't heard from Lawn since he sold the club. Why is he being wheeled out now?

Adams lost it during that interview and fans around me on Saturday assumed he was having a go at the club.

Also he is wrong about twatter and fakenewsBook.. because of social media.. i have a garden full of turkeys all set for xmas i have bags of fuel because 5 BP garages closed.. i have been to all the sports retailers and bought all the Nike trainers… and now im using as much gas and electric as i can before the prices go up..

medias full of shit.. scaremongering bbc and sky are the worst offenders.. ill stick yo al-jazeera news at least its more accurate than our mainstream media

You are right on Al-Jazeera, but I think Sky are a lot more balanced than ITV & BBC. Of the mainstreams, Channel Four news is the least scaremongering.

Very true. If Lawn had been able to let go the Steve Parkin enquiry might have become a deal, but Lawn wanted part of it so Parkin walked.

What makes you say that Tony, if a new stadium was built within the Bradford boundary why would that deter fans fron attending.
It would be hard for many fans who have known nothing else and of course the emotional tie would be hard but not sure why it would be the end, but it won't happen mate certainly not in our time.

For 1 or 2 you have to have the appetite for it to happen. Buying back the ground probably makes more sense than building a new one as the cost of building a new one with a capacity to suit makes it an unreal proposition for a league 2 football club on its own. In my lifetime supporting the sporting clubs of my hometown there has only ever been one time period where there was genuine ambition and that was mid to late nineties. That era has gone and the City has changed a lot since then. I'll guarantee you we will sign a new lease at Valley Parade, the terms of which will be determined by FLPF.

Most likely. But look at it from a business perspective:

Spend 10m to buy a £4m asset that’s old and in need of investment.
Spend 30m on an asset that’s brand new, could add all sorts of additional revenue capabilities, and may very be worth £50m as an asset.

The numbers are arbitrary, but the principle holds.

Rupp has the wealth and certainly the capital security to allow for borrowing of that nature. Might not immediately, or even quickly improve the clubs cashflow position, but creates a more secure longer term position. A proper investment opportunity that he’d probably be able to relate much more capably to, than what it takes to build a football team.

If we are making numbers up.

Spend £5m to buy a £m asset that is in need of investment
Spend £35m+ on an asset that is brand new and is probably not worth anywhere near that as an asset as the sell on value is zero, unless selling to another sports team based in Bradford.

The man claims the club need more ambition, then wants to shut half our fan base which has grown ten fold in the last 40 years. In the championship we were averaging around 15k at high prices, football is more popular than then and it proves it that we can get them sort of gates 2 leagues below regardless of price. When I started going in the mid 90’s we got around 5k home support, even if we made season tickets far cheaper we wouldn’t have got the gates we do now and we were league 1 then not 2. We’d easily get gates of around 20k in the championship when you consider away support, even with higher prices. Premier league is a tourist league and you are pretty much certain to sell your tickets our regardless. So much for an ambitious person, if we got a stadium that small we’d be accepting we will never be above league 1 again. Some of us still want higher…

I don't mind Fordy but I'm finding lately there are some opinions on here that just don't make any logical sense.
